  • Priced too high for what you get

    A nice hotel, but costs too much for what you get.

    My room was too small for the price.

    It was also absolutely freezing. Air-con was ineffective, maintenance man couldn't fix it, had to give me a heater.

  • Good but not great hotel

    The Hotel Viking is a nice place best described as good but not great. I agree with other reviewers that it is overpriced but has a very good location. Room was generally ok but the bed was heavenly. We stayed 5 nights here and had some 6 meals in the hotel's restaurant. Food was quite good.

  • Not Impressed at all with this over priced hotel

    I booked this Hotel for the weekend of a family members wedding, The reviews I read were wonderful so I was convinced spending over $400 a night for a hotel room would be well worth it, Boy was I wrong. The front desk and valet were wonderful, very friendly, very efficient. My room was on the first floor, it smelled of a musty odor, the ceiling in the teeny bathroom was peeling (Moisture?). There was no do not disturb sign to be found, the first morning as I was leaving for the day, I saw the maid in the room a few away from mine and told her that her services were not needed today but I could not find the sign, she nodded and mumbled something, I said ok? She responded ok. Upon my return that afternoon, the maid had made a visit...... annoyed! The second day upon returning to my room late morning I found the maid cart next door and my room wide open, I sat on the chair for approx ten minutes to see if she would show her face, Nope... My room wide open to the public. Friday night on our return from the wedding we attended down the road, ;I went to the lobby bar to order a drink to join my friends and family in the bar area, bartender said sorry Bar is closed, this was at 1230 am, I was just disappointed that I missed out while others in the lobby area were enjoying a nightcap. The walls are super thin in the rooms, I can tell you all about the couple statyng next door to me, I was disappointed considering the cost.

    I was very pleased to read that your arrival at the hotel was wonderful and your interactions with the front desk and our valet teams delivered the level of hospitality that people have come to expect of the Hotel Viking.
    Equally i was disappointed to read that the rest of your time was not met with the same level of hospitality. Please know that I am investigating the situation you described with the housekeeper as that does not match our standards or training that every housekeeping attendant goes through and that your feedback is being shared with the appropriate departments to ensure this was an isolated incident and will certainly not be repeated.
    Again, I apologize that our level of hospitality did not meet, much less exceed, your expectations as this is our goal with every guest.

  • Not worth the $$$

    I spent two nights (a required minimum) at Hotel Viking for an October wedding. The hotel claimed that this was still the "summer season" so I paid an unruly amount for two nights when it was ~60 degrees. The walls were paper thin (i.e. you will hear your upstairs neighbors in the middle of the night...). The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom and the overall hotel was nice but it was NOT worth the price. I would recommend finding a cozy bed and breakfast or hotel elsewhere.

  • Very nice!

    We had a lovely room and excellent service. The doormen/valets were friendly and welcoming every time we returned. Convenient for sightseeing especially on foot. Delicious scallops in the restaurant. Too bad their roof top bar was closed for the season.
