The Hotel

History
During the 1930s, the South Beach area was an Art Deco paradise. Well-heeled travelers flocked to the sunny shores, prompting many to christen it the “American Riviera.” The Hotel was designed in 1939 by famed Miami Beach architect L. Murray Dixon, who was responsible for many of the Art Deco landmarks throughout South Beach. When the area fell into decline, The Hotel, like many of its sister properties, was left vacant and abandoned. In 1998, after a complete renovation which uncovered original features such as the lobby’s circular windows and terrazzo floor, the property opened as the Tiffany Hotel. Today, The Hotel once again welcomes travelers who seek the South Beach experience.
