  • Quieter digs close to Little Caesars Arena

    by Chris C on 2018-01-16 11:36 am

My husband decided to treat ourselves to a decent hotel on a night we had concert tickets at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. I thought the price was a bit high for one night, but once we got there and saw the room, I was smitten. We stayed in the Victorian style mansion, and had a nice; quiet stay. Also there is an amazing restaurant around the corner. All said, was worth it!

What a fantastic place at an incredible value. I was so happy to find this gem. The rooms were beautiful. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was superior. I have to bring my whole team up in February. We will definitely be staying here again!

  • Awesome Anniversary at the Inn

    by Keiara G on 2018-01-04 04:21 am

We decided to come to Detroit to visit our parents and didn't want to drive all the way back to the Flint area. I wanted to stay somewhere secluded and yet romantic for our first anniversary. It was awesome! It was vintage, yet having a modern twist. The bathroom was exquisite. The bed was perfect. Breakfast was great and the coffee was really tasty. I didn't want to leave! That is how good our experience was, despite the snow. They accommodated us completely throughout our stay. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Amazing Space, Great Location, and Comfortable Rooms

by CHMassachusetts on 2018-01-03 04:16 pm

This Inn is actually a collection of exquisitely restored late nineteenth century mansions, along with a carraige house or two, Each is wonderfully preserved and restored. This is grand architecture from a splendid era. The breakfast and lobby space is comfortable and nice, but each inn -- or at least several of them -- hae seperate sitting areas. The rooms are private and grand. The location is super-convenient to most of central Detroit. But -- a real plus -- the cultural center areas are actually walkable.

  • Good value

by debtodeb on 2017-12-30 01:17 pm

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Inn on Ferry Street with friends for a "staycation" in Detroit. We were given the Carriage House, which has two bedrooms, a small sitting room and a shared bath. The main bedroom was beautifully appointed. The second bedroom, where we stayed, was plain and small in comparison. Bedding was adequate, including a rather thin cotton coverlet and cotton blanket. Fortunately, we prefer a cooler temperature for sleeping. The sitting room has two upholstered chairs, a round breakfast table and two side chairs. A loveseat and coffee table would be more comfortable and practical. There's little use for the dining table, as breakfast is served in the main house. Toiletries and bath linens were very nice and generous. The breakfast offered a good variety of fresh fruit, breads, cereals, egg dishes and waffles, and is served in a charming side room.

I think we'd return for a second stay, asking for a different room, just to experience all the Inn has to offer. The buildings are beautiful architecturally, and convenient to the Q-line and the DIA, among other Detroit destinations.
