  • Wakulla Springs is the place to relax!

    by Alison C on 2018-07-09 01:02 pm

My spouse and I went to Wakulla Springs to relax, and that's exactly what we did. I was worried about the rooms not having televisions, but it was fine. The restaurant was so-so, water 69 degrees year round.

  • 1 night stay on our way out of florida

    by tcalmettes77 on 2018-06-26 05:24 pm

It was a quick 1 night stay on our road trip with 2 kids under 11 yrs. It was a step back in time. The hotel has so much history and you feel it. Kids thought it was a little creepy but it was a great experience. The springs in the back of the hotel made the entire experience worth it! The breakfast was also authentic.

  • Step back in time.

Like calm quiet of old school summer lodge with brisk, cool swim area including fun 2 level diving platform and floating one to swim out to? Need excitement -the 4 ft. baby gator will move and you can scuba dive the spring - you might find another mastadon part-a molar in jaw is in the lobby. No t.v. in the room, but plenty of table sized checker boards in various places, a 'great room' with books, games and the t.v. (did not use it or miss it). Wildlife boat tours through gorgeous cypress bayou with park rangers and walking trails through the woods where trees are identified and two sink holes have albino crawdads. Picnic areas and amazing pecan pie. Try the fried green tomatoes- really uptown worthy. It is old school: shower-bath has 4 water controls, 2 for shower; 2 for tub. Friendly, helpful people.

  • Love the rich Florida history

    by 51Travelbug on 2018-06-24 11:39 am

Wakulla lodge is one of those magnificent and rare, places where you can wonder back in time, the days of old glory. The rooms are very basic (no TV/stereo) and clean, however they should have been restored better. We had a good night sleep and comfortable beds. The lodge has been restored at some level but unfortunately they didn't preserve the old bar in the way is once was. The old elevator, all the gorgeous marble and especially the lodge woodwork ceiling are beautiful. The restaurant was very good; love the menu choices and excellent service. B
Full breakfast was included however, due to technical difficulties was limited to an upgraded continental breakfast, which was fine for us. We took the park service boat excursion through the springs which was narrated by a professor who showed us the beautiful wildlife and nature surrounding the lodge. Highly recommend this experience! We saw lots of manatees, alligators and yes, snakes. Al I can say is that I love my stay at Wakulla Lodge.

  • more like a camp than a historic hotel

    by Rachel R on 2018-06-21 01:15 pm

I had always wanted to stay at the Lodge because of it's 1940s no-technology art-deco vibe. But it was more like being at a camp. And I could have stayed on Palm Beach for a lower room rate. I checked in 1.5 hours past check-in and there was water all over the bathroom floor. No apology. The bottom sheet kept springing off the thin mattress in the night. The food in the restaurant is good but most of the staff is woefully under-trained in hospitality. Including the young woman I call THE SCREAMER. The springs are still beautiful and the boat ride fascinating. But it is not worth the price to stay at the Lodge. I had a much better experience 2 years ago when I stayed at an "eco motel" in Wakulla County and made the springs a day trip.
