  • Pool Room

We stayed just a few days after the New Year. Room rate was $149. Checked into the hotel was smooth. Our room overlooked the pool on the 2nd. floor. Room was clean & comfortable. Only stayed 1 night had dinner at the Mexican restaurant. The hotel is a trip back in time. $23 for valet car park. Bar at happy hour is worth it. Didn't let the inn keepers politics get in the way for a one night stay. LOL Off the bucket list.

  • Day after Christmas - nice but dated

by Steverinie on 2018-01-11 05:47 am

Stayed here just after Xmas for a couple of nights during Festival of Lights. Despite the mad rushes of people in the evenings, the employees provided outstanding service all around. Valets, doormen, concierge, housekeeping -- they were all very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. My only issues were the room and elevators. I suggest you get an upgraded room if you are able to. We stayed in the basic "deluxe" room and it was nothing to write home about. It's on the small side and just felt old. There were water stains on the ceiling right above where our heads were when in bed, and there was an outdoor walkway above us meaning we heard luggage and other things being rolled around quite often. I get it though, it's an old building and they do what they can despite the age and configuration -- which is why I only docked one star -- but you need to have proper expectations before visiting. As for the elevators, there were two side by side and they were a little small, especially for those of us with a baby stroller. But at least they didn't take long to arrive, and they did have a staff person assisting on the lobby level.

I also cannot recommend the dinner buffet. Everything looked dried out except for the carving station. The dessert table looked decent ... until my wife saw a cockroach on one of the items. Just order off the menu. I did and enjoyed my food.

  • Christmas Cheer

    by Mychelle F on 2018-01-08 08:58 pm

If your looking for a fun Christmas place to take the family or friends this is the place. The explosion of lights was amazing. The entire area was buzzing with energy. You can go on a lighted carriage ride, listen to the street singers and entertainers, feast on the wide selection of food choices and shop in the wide variety of retail stores that surround the Inn. The hotel, spa and restaurants inside the hotel are a little pricey but well worth the splurge. You might even decide to take a walk back in time and take the tour of the hotel.

  • Amazing historic hotel

    by bernadettef300 on 2018-01-07 10:28 am

The charm and history of this place is amazing! The staff are every where and super polite and helpful. There are older more charming karts and the newer cookie cutter type rooms, that I don't like but I prefer vintage. Mediocre beds, depends on the room. A very nice pool and jacuzzi. The immediate area is nice with lots of shops. Don't eat at mezcal, it's horrible.. The restaurants in the hotel are all good. It's a nice place .
