  • Right across from the Fox theatre

Spent the night after seeing The Nutcracker. Nice to be just across the street. This is an old downtown building with very nice decor. Floors still creak which means you may be woken up by those in the floor above. Second floor has a nice sitting area and complimentary coffee. The included breakfast is in another hotel one block away. Restaurants next door give 10% discount for hotel guests. Very nice desk clerk, available 24 hours. Bed was very comfortable, small TV with cable. Free WiFi sometimes a little slow. USB ports in room. Would stay again.

  • What a gem!

This quaint hotel is the oldest operating hotel in Spokane. The decor is exquisite. The rooms are clean, large, and pristine. The beds are so comfy. There are 3 restaurants onsite. The craft cocktail bar in the old boiler room in the basement is wonderful (try the smoked pepper pub chips!). This is now our go-to hotel in Spokane!

  • I love going to Spokane

The Montvale is consistently excellent when it comes to customer service, clean rooms and overall great hospitality. The boutique hotel feel adds wonderful detail to the stay. They are my first pick for accommodation in Spokane.

  • beatiful old hotel

the staff makes you feel at home and as you make your way up to your room you can see all the beautiful antiques they have collected. They have little sitting areas where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea well visiting with other guests. parking can be an issue as they have a tiny lot that fills fast so then you must park on street and follow city parking meter rules.

  • Lovely Hotel Stay

I recently visited Spokane for an event downtown and had the good fortune of staying at the Montvale Hotel. It is a lovely place right across the street from the Fox Theater and the Knitting Factory. I stayed in Room 204, a Queen room right above the lobby and next to the elevator. (I didn't hear any noise from the street and I only heard the mechanical workings of the elevator when I was in the bathtub.) The room was a good size for one or two people and had a spacious bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quite clean. The hotel has an old-world charm, but all the modern amenities, like free wi-fi and cable TV. It reminded me of a hotel where I once stayed in Vienna. I only encountered one staff member during my stay, but Ryan was efficient, welcoming and helpful.

A definite plus to staying at the Montvale is the Gilded Unicorn, a fantastic restaurant located in the basement of the hotel. It was so nice be able to avoid going out in the cold and rain, and instead just taking the elevator down two floors. (Even better on the way back up, especially having had a cocktail or two.)

This is a great place to stay if you are attending an event in downtown Spokane. Leave your car in the lot ($10/day) and walk or take Lyft/Uber.
