  • Lovely old world accomodations.

by dinnerand on 2017-12-06 10:23 am

This is a special place and we enjoyed our stay. Could use a little
    updating but minor things.
The best part of staying here was the employees..everyone was helpful and
friendly. Our bartender at the Hawkeye Lounge/Restaurant was the best!
The bed was very comfortable and the room was warm and a decent size.
Bathroom was updated and very good size.

  • Worth the splurge

    by Carol757 on 2017-11-15 09:17 am

There are limited options for lodging in Cooperstown, so we decided to splurge during our visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame and stay at the Otesaga Resort Hotel. After all, it's where the players and the press corps stay during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Even with the AAA discount, our room was $340 a night, and that was for the most modest room selection on the website. Thus, we were very pleasantly surprised when we checked in and were upgraded to a village suite (which meant that it did not face the lake) at no additional cost. Our suite was beautifully furnished and scrupulously clean. It was lovely to have the little sitting room, and we appreciated the fact that the hotel (of course) includes the MLB channel in its cable package so that we catch up on baseball news. The products in the bathroom were excellent. You definitely feel that you are at a luxury resort in the quality of the accommodations and the service.

We especially enjoyed sitting on the large porch at sunset, watching golfers putting at the hole that is closest to the hotel as the sun set over the lake.

Our room rate included the breakfast buffet in the dining room. I am not normally a fan of buffets, but this one was superb. My omelet was cooked to perfection, and there was an expansive assortment of other choices. The service was wonderful.

I'd also like to give a shout-out to the woman in the gift shop who was extremely helpful to us when we realized we'd forgotten an item.

  • A pleasant step back in time...

    by Lynn H on 2017-11-14 08:52 pm

I recently stayed at the Otesaga Hotel as part of a business trip. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel was a step back in time when luxury and customer service were key. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. The lake views from the hotel were breathtaking. My room was spacious and comfortable and appointed with all the modern amenities. I would love to visit in the spring to take advantage of the outdoor activities. A lovely hotel!

  • Peaceful one night stay

by Ann Marie F on 2017-11-14 05:04 pm

One night stay on a trip to the Cooperstown Baseball Museum. Spotless room and wonderful staff. Delicious dinner at the Hawkeye Grill. The resort is within walking distant to the Baseball Museum. Off season rates made this luxury resort quite affordable.

  • Beautiful and great service, but my back still hurts

    by Suzamie F on 2017-11-14 03:28 am

There were two weddings and another event, I assume that is why we were in a very small room, even though we paid 360.00 per night. The bed was rock hard and the pillows were too. I am still sore. The air was so dry, it was not only uncomfortable, it left me with chapped lips and stuffed up for a couple of days after returning home. And that was with drinking two bottles of water each night.

The staff and food were wonderful.

    Owner Response
