  • Beautiful building

    by Derek R on 2018-02-17 07:53 am

The Pfister is in a great downtown location. It's close to most of the important places like theaters, shopping and food. The building itself is 1800s and well taken care of. The hotel interior is very comfortable with a small but well supplied bar. The restaurant in the lobby has some nice food also. The staff is very friendly and they are not afraid to help you with whatever you need. The rooms are not huge, but they are small either. The bathroom in the standard king room is a bit small but not that bad. I wasn't able to make it up to Blu, which is the bar at the top of the hotel but I heard it's nice. If you like classic hotels then this is the place for you.

  • Great view, wonderful sheets, awesome staff.

Tom put us in a great room we loved the view of the lake where we were able to see all of the areas where we had taken wedding photos earlier that day. We enjoyed our wedding night in the pfister very much. We also loved all of the attention to detail and appreciated the card and chocolates they delivered.

  • Relaxing get away

The room had a great view with very comfy king size bed. Very clean. The club lounge has a lot of choices for both cocktail hour and breakfast. The hotel itself is historic with lots of art work and architectural features. Our room had a book that you could read about the hotel and the take a look in person. The location is great for the theatre and other downtown venues. The staff is very helpful. I can't wait to go back.

  • Old world charm, excellent service

by ADDHongKong on 2018-02-12 09:07 pm

The Pfister has an old world charm that is hard to beat. The murals on the ceiling in the main reception area, the art on the walls, the old metal hardware and fittings all around, take guests back to an era when Milwaukee was a major trading and manufacturing center.

But what is best about the Pfister is the excellent service. After an evening arrival, I needed my suit pressed for an early morning meeting the next day. Even though it was too late for housekeeping to press my suit, the hotel butler (Nicholas) looked up an overnight dry cleaner, arranged to have a staff member drop off my suit and I was able to pick up the suit at 07:00 next morning. (In case anybody needs this service, lookup up Northpoint Cleaners.) Everywhere else in the hotel, too, the service was exemplary.

The rooms are well equipped and furnished. The hotel location is central (downtown) and is easy to get to and from the highway.

Mason's Grill restaurant serves delicious steaks and fish. They have seating by the open kitchen too in case you want to watch the chefs in action. The bar in the restaurant plays sports on TV.

The Blu Bar on the top floor affords beautiful views of Milwaukee. And the bar tender makes good Martinis and Negronis...something that many other bars mess up easily.

    I will definitely come back...

  • The place to Getaway

When I walk into the lobby of the Pfister I immediately know I am in a special place. The historic charm of the lobby is spectacular. Every service interaction we had was great. This is the second time we made the trip from Chicago just to stay in the Pfister.
