  • Perfect in every way

    by PG-NY on 2018-01-01 07:06 am

We could not have asked for a more perfect New Years Eve celebration! Beautiful cozy setting, festively but tastefully decorated for the holidays. Warm and professional staff. Delicious dinner, fun music, hearty breakfast. Our room was small (but we knew that going in as it was the last available) but immaculately clean and very comfortable. Loved the attention to details of the arts & crafts mission-style furnishings. It was below zero outside so we did have a little challenge regulating the room temperature - either too warm or too cold - but not an issue overall. We cannot find a single thing to complain about - it was truly wonderful and we look forward to future visits! Highly recommend.

  • Very disappointing stay overall

    by srussell626 on 2017-12-22 05:27 pm

We have stayed at the inn for last 10 years, it was always our "winter getaway" for our anniversary. This year was our 25th anniversary so needless to say it should have been extra special. Not so. We booked 2 nights & checked out early. Breakfast our first morning was cold and the sausage was raw, not cooked at all so we decided to not even have breakfast the 2nd morning. Fireplace was not attended to for hours, just left to smoldering. Talked to staff members and they voiced their own concerns. It just seems a the little niceties are forgotten. Upon checkout I expressed our problems to the woman at the desk, she offered an additional discount but since I received a standard thank you for your stay email I doubt that anything will be addressed. It would make a difference if somebody from the Inn would have reached out and personally addressed ohr concerns. Don't know if we will return. Very disappointed.

  • Very special anniversary setting

    by Lee B on 2017-12-20 05:05 am

My husband and I spent a wonderful evening at The Settlers Inn in Hawley, PA on the banks of Lake Wallenpaupack. The room was incredible, the staff was wonderful, and the Farm-to-Table dinner and breakfast were amazing!

When he found out it was our anniversay, Mark from the front desk brought glasses of hot mulled cider up to our room. He also supplied Sparkling Grape Juice at dinner when we told him we were not interested in the wine tasting since we didn't drink alcohol. Although their desserts are awe-inspiring, the staff put together a fresh fruit platter for me.

The ambience of our room was delightful. There was plenty of room with comfortable oversized chairs and a large sofa. The room included a fireplace, jacuzzi for 2, and a generously sized walk-in shower. The robes were the most comfortable ones I've ever worn. In addition to a Keurig in the room, there was also a beverage lounge area
with coffee, teas, biscotti, and chocolates. Our stay included a free wine tasting, dinner and breakfast in their awesome Farm-to-Table restaurant.

They offer a package called the "Winter Foodies Special" that includes their best available room, dinner, and breakfast the next morning. This was not our first time there, and it will certainly not be our last! What a relaxing and memorable get-away!

  • Winter wedding weekend

    by annasophia88 on 2017-12-18 09:57 am

We had our wedding at the Settlers Inn this past Saturday, and it was nothing short of perfect. We worked with Terri on a room block and ended up renting out every room at the Inn to family and friends for both Friday and Saturday night. Terri was very accommodating and quick to respond to every e-mail that we sent her in the weeks leading up to our weekend. When we arrived at the Inn on Friday, it was decorated beautifully for winter. Our guests enjoyed mingling in the lobby and felt right at home in front of the fireplace; the rooms were clean, cozy, and inviting. During the day on Saturday, our guests had plenty to keep busy with the various tourist attractions nearby. At the wedding on Saturday evening, Jen (the event coordinator) and all the Inn staff were extremely friendly and made sure that everything ran smoothly for the entire night. Our guests could not stop complimenting about the entire overall experience. Thank you for making our wedding weekend great!

  • The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

    by joeyf1125 on 2017-12-10 02:37 pm

We visited the Settlers in WinterFest Weekend. The Inn is lovely and it was nicely decorated for Christmas. The food and the service in the restaurant was excellent. As for the room, although it was inviting, we soon discovered the location of the room was terrible. Located next to the bar and common room. Not to mention the common area restrooms just steps outside our door. To say the least, we did not get much sleep. A one point, it was so loud, it felt like the people were right in our room - no exaggeration! What was must bothersome, was the fact that the internet description of the room stated it was a corner, first floor room. It conveniently omitted the bar, common area and the restrooms. The next morning, we complained to the inn keeper who acknowledged the poor location and changed our room. Unfortunately a good nights sleep was not to be had. We were awakened by a very noisy heating unit. After trying to adjust/fix the heater several times, we turned it off and slept without heat. When we checked out, our bill was adjusted by 20% - not nearly enough given the our experience.

Dear joeyf1125, We are sorry to hear you did not have a good experience with your room. The lobby was louder than normal with concert goers and a live performance by the Virgin Consort. Would you please reach out to our manger, Terri, so that we can speak to you personally, 570.226.2993? We hope you will join us another time and let us win you over with our hospitality and our rooms.
