    The place is lovely and the grounds pretty even though it is December. All staff very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast in our overnight package. Spinach with my scallops was salty and french toast for breakfast the next day was dry and send back. Food is average, should be better with the amount you pay. Spa was nice, massage was quick. Have had the same ones at massage envy for much less with the same treatment. Relaxation room was crowded after each 50 minute session comes out. The villas were lovely and fairly new. The deck and stairs surrounding them were rusty and in need of paint! The outside needs tlc. The lobby also needs a facelift, dull and not cheerful. Its reputation preceeds it, but not work $488 for one night.

We have passed on all of your other observations on to our Executive Chef and Spa Director. We are sorry to hear you thought the lobby needs a face lift. The feedback thus far has been overwhelmingly positive regarding our 2017 makeover including the main lobby. As a Historic Inn & Spa, we feel we were able to make the space brighter and more open while making choices that compliment styles popular in the late 1920s/early 30s when the Inn was originally built. We also completed renovations last week in the spa lobby and hope you will consider returning to see all of the changes!

  • Thanksgiving

    We spent Thanksgiving night and enjoyed the buffer dinner I could have just stopped after a plate of Jumbo Shrimp, lobster crab cakes and Shrimp Bisque. The Bisque was absolutely exquisite. I was looking forward to the prime rib but found it a bit disappointing - it tasted more like regular roast beef. The service was great and the desserts were delicious and plentiful. They were kind enough to surprise us with an upgrade to a junior suite! The bed was very comfortable and the suite was spacious. We enjoyed the wine tasting very much! We found everyone on the staff to be quite friendly and helpful. I did not have a chance to take advantage of the spa but I will return with just 'the girls' !

  • Great except for a few things....

    First, I want to say I love coming here... The Check In with the Front Desk Manager in the late afternoon was very easy and quick. The food was good. Massage and Pedicure were amazing! Here are my only complaints- I got a 80 min massage... while it was fantastic, she was a few mins late and then we finished about 8 mins early. Not trying to me nit picky, but I'm paying for this time and it's not cheap! The check out around Noon was VERY stressful! So many ppl trying to check in early, when check in time is not supposed to be till after 3 pm... (this is not a issue with the Hotel, but an issue with annoying guests). After a relaxing day at the Spa, that was a downer. I don't want to spend 20 mins checking out when I am in a time crunch. There was a mix up while splitting the bill, and while I was partially to blame the for not being more specific, we were never given an itemized copy of new corrected bill.

  • Very Disappointing

    This was my second trip and I was with friends who were visiting for the 6th year. The room was fine. A nice size and clean, but "tired" and in need of renovation and sprucing up. The spa services were great (expensive, but great) HOWEVER the spa itself was AWFUL. Not relaxing at all. There was no room in relaxation room so nowhere to relax after or between services. The place was crowded beyond belief with no area for 5 of us to sit and hang out together as we waited. There were 5 bathrooms and one sink. The hot tub was totally overcrowded. Many lockers broken and area not picked up promptly. Waste paper baskets overflowing, showers not cleaned promptly. The wine tasting was a joke. Like an inch of wine, not kidding. The next morning before our second day of treatments, half of our party (3) were told at 10 that they could not be accommodated for breakfast. UNACCEPATABLE. They were told that the first available seating was in 2.5 hours later. (We already had a lunch reservation for 1). Never had reservations been required at breakfast, nor was it suggested in the pre-arrival e-mail or during check in. At checkout I found out that one of my services (a wrap) was taxable. (The massages were not taxed.) The tax added another 20 dollars to an already expensive service. So my roommate and I each had a bill of 730 for one night at a mediocre spa. At lunch on Sunday we discussed where we will go next year because it won't be back here.

    Dear Zacar - It is unfortunate to read about your recent experience at the Spa and our apologies for not providing the relaxing day that we are known for and the one I know was well deserved. The areas you mentioned can surely be improved immediately and brought up to our high standards without exception. The renovation has caused some operational challenges, with space limitations, but that does not excuse the mishaps along the way.   • Perfection!

    Amazing and beautiful spa with full services and the most accommodating staff. Spa services were superb
    - one of the best yoga classes I've ever attended. The dining room dinner choices were plentiful and delicious. Great getaway spot.
