Overview

The Stagecoach Inn was established in 1852, and is believed to be the oldest structure in Salado, Texas. Salado is one of the earliest settlements in Texas and was built up quickly, becoming a hot spot for activity in its early years. After being closed for some time, The Stagecoach Inn reopened in 1943, with the restaurant quickly becoming a beloved landmark. Famous recipes of unique dishes attracted people from all over for many years. The hotel is now on the National Register of Historic Landmarks.

The hotel is undergoing renovations that include upgrades and restoration to its current 48 guestrooms, and will include an additional 24 by 2019. The famous restaurant at the Inn is still serving up traditional dishes and the bar features craft cocktails and local beers. The meeting spaces at The Stagecoach Inn have also been upgraded to include larger spaces. Groups, meetings, and weddings of up to 200 guests can be accommodated with true southern hospitality as part of the package.

As a part of a historic town, The Stagecoach Inn is near several exciting activities. Guests can visit several area breweries and wineries for a tour, meals, and unique drinks. Those seeking to get outdoors will be delighted to know The Stagecoach Inn was built as a stop along the Chisholm Trail which can still be traveled for a walk, jog, and sightseeing. Take a moment to take in the sculptures in the local sculpture garden or stop by the Strawberry Patch for live music. Enjoy the thriving local art scene and Sip n’ Shop events on Fridays in the summer.
