No privacy when you pull in to the hotel to get your stuff together. There is free valet parking, which could be nice if I hadn't been driving a long while and needed to find my phone, wallet etc. and put it all together, as well as make sure I had everything I wanted to bring to the room. Plus they take your keys, so you can't easily come down and grab whatever. They said you can self park if you want to, despite the huge sign across the parking lot that reads, "valet parking only," but the instructions were kind of like, go through the first lot, turn to the left, turn right onto the ramp, follow the ramp.....on and on, when actually they could have just pointed and said, "the second lot." Got to my room, it was fairly clean. Dated, but that's okay, adds to the character. But there was a huge wad of dark long hair in the tub drain. Completely grossed me out. Obviously building up a while. TV didn't work. I didn't realize until bedtime when I was dressed for bed and then I didn't want someone in the room fixing it or having to change rooms. Some staff were nice, but some were really snotty, kind of like French waiters. Passive aggressive and had attitudes. Complementary breakfast was stale pastry or a piece of plastic wrapped fruit. To eat it you had to sit in the lobby waiting area or outdoors on porch, despite the fact that there was a huge empty restaurant beside the lobby, owned by the hotel. The temp was in the 40's and the staff was directing an elderly couple to sit on the porch if they wanted to sit by a table. I think maybe some rooms are extra nice, but my room with corporate rate was just serviceable.

  • Fascinating Historic Hotel-near Frank LLoyd Wright Architecture

Loved the history and architecture of the hotel. Close your eyes and go back in time. The restaurant was very classy...not your typical modern hotel eatery. Great location...the nightlife is close by. Also check out Florida Southern College...most buildings designed by Frank LLoyd Wright in the US

Yes it is old, yes it is dated, and yes that is why we love it. The beds are always comfortable and the staff is always bending over to help you . We stay 3 to 4 times a year for the past 5 years. My daughters dance competitively and at the end of a hectic day they want to get a bite to eat and hit the bed.

  • Overnight Stay

This is a charming, historic hotel with lots of potential, especially in the area of cleanliness. When I arrived in my room, I found a razor cover left behind from another guest. The carpet is dated and appear dirty with significant dust/dirt build up in the corners. It appeared that the bathroom floor was not mopped between guest, no drain stopper in the tub, dirty windows, etc. Power outlets were very limited. On a positive note, they did offer free Wi-Fi, there were plenty of towels and the staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful.

  • Lovely hotel with friendly staff

We stayed three nights at Lakeland Terrace Hotel. It has vintage charm, a wonderful restaurant with great service, and very attentive valet parking staff. If you find yourself in a morning rush, there is excellent coffee, fresh fruit and pastry to grab on your way our the door!
