  • Beautiful hotel, lots of charm, would stay again but very spooky shuttle driver

    I stayed here with my 12 yr old son prior to an appointment at the children's hospital. The staff at check in as amazing... refreshingly knowledgeable, courteous, patient and professional. We stayed on a Hilton Honors floor and our room seemed to have been updated recently, very lovely. Painter probably should've used a drop cloth though lots of paint splatter on the hardwood floors. Restaurant good, wait staff wonderful. Dining room had beautiful fireplace.

    In the morning we took the 7:30 AM shuttle for the 8 AM appointment. Front desk told me 7 mins to Children's pain rehab hospital. Driver of shuttle talked to his friend in the passenger seat and ignored passenger questions and requests. My son and I were the last ones on the shuttle alone with driver, It was obvious from my GPS he didn't know where he was going. Politely as possible I read him the address (again) and shared what GPS was telling us. He grunted and ignored me. I was actually getting a little spooked by the time I called the Children's hospital to let them know we were going to be late.

    We arrived 38 minutes after we left the hotel. I called the hotel to see if he would be our return driver. Yes. I shared my concern and Ubered back to hotel for $7.

  • Hilton Honors Members beware

    I usually stay at another Hilton Hotel, but since my mother gets her treatment at the Cleveland Clinic we decided to stay closer to save money. My mother is a Diamond Member and we are not happy. First when we made the reservation we asked to stay on the Hilton Honors floor, as high up as possible. Instead we are staying lower in a conjoined room. We can hear everything that is happening in the room next to us to include a night of partying. We have gone many days without housekeeping as well. There is one girl who is wonderful. The front desk staff could be better. This is the first Doubletree that has asked us if we were even guest in order to get cookies that are never warm, instead I was told to microwave mine for 15 sec to get a warm cookie. At the Embassy Suites we always got a free water when we came in the door. Here there isn't even water offered, no soda, no drinks. Never greeted when we come in the door. As a Hilton Honor member I am appalled at the service here. We will not only never return here, but will be spreading the word to other clinic patients to stay elsewhere. Also will be emailing the manager of this hotel.

  • Great Conversion Into Very Good Hotel

    First stay at this property for a meeting at Cleveland Clinic and if I get a chance to return, I will stay here again. Everything with my stay went very well - friendly staff, fast and efficient check-in, nice and spacious room, fast wi-fi, and good breakfast. There is a charge for parking but valet is the same cost as self-parking. If you are going to CC there is a free shuttle that is also convenient.

    We loved our stay! The staff was welcoming and accommodating with everything we needed. Upon arrival we were offered a warm soft deliciousness cookie! Wish I could I had 50 of them! They even checked up on us making sure everything was okay and if we needed anything.

  • Nice historic building

    Built in the 1930's as the Cleveland Athletic Club and repurposed as a hotel later, the ambiance and decor is very nice. The Tudor restaurant looked like a ballroom to me and it turned out to be a popular wedding reception location. The 2 queen bedroom had wooden floors so I presume the other rooms would also have wooden floors. Service is nice, valet parking is available, and they have a free shuttle service for a 2 mile radius. Just beside the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital so the shuttle service can bring you there.
