  • Great Place to Stay in the Valley of the Sun

by KonaCrew on 2017-04-17 02:18 pm

This was our second time to the Wigwam Resort. The resort is a pleasant oasis in the desert. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful setting, good food and excellent service. The rooms are spacious and the layout of the resort makes for a peaceful and quaint experience.

  • Fruit trees

by macomberk on 2017-04-16 01:17 pm

I stayed at the Wigwam for a conference in December. You need to take an Uber from the airport -or a rental car-it is in an interesting residential area. The resort is layer out in many smaller buildings and has a lot of character. The main lodge was beautifully decorated for the holidays. My room was very large and had a great balcony over looking the pool. I was so impressed (coming from Michigan) all of the lemon and orange trees they had on property.

  • Full resort with lots of amenities

    by J L on 2017-04-15 06:04 pm

This is an historic resort that has quite a past. There is a main lodge with sitting areas, a bowl of oranges and lots of pictures. The meeting space is close and there are several pools, a spa, full fitness center, golf courses and other things to do to relax and enjoy. The grounds are kept very well and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Rooms are in separate buildings with theres or four in a row. They are spacious, comfortable and nice. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear a loud conversation to TV going on next door, so thats a bit of a negative. Also the room numbering system makes no sense. It is easy to get lost on the grounds and find a room close to your number, but that can be on the other side of the resort. They provide a map and you really need it to find your way around. Rooms have large bathrooms with both a tub and shower and in-room coffee. There is a small safe, large TV, refrigerator and work desk with a few outlets. They add a "resort fee" of about $28 to your bill for each night you stay and the check in person told me there was a "bellman gratuity" for taking you to your room. There is also a "housekeeping gratuity" added to your bill so those are good things to keep in mind and ask about so you don't have any surprises. Staff was all great, the pools and pool bar was good, the room was clean and comfortable and it was a nice stay.

  • Very nice

by hbhakh on 2017-04-15 04:11 pm

I recently spent 3 nights at The Wigwam for a conference. It's about a 30 minute drive from PHX. Check in was very easy and the staff were extremely helpful. The resort is expansive so golf cart service to your room is provided if its far away. Mine was located near the conference area/main building.

My room was large and comfortable. There was a walk in closet but no drawers for clothes. The double sink in the bathroom would be nice for families. Housekeeping was very efficient.

The grounds of The Wigwam are very nice and constantly maintained. There are two very nice pools and several outdoor sitting/recreation areas. A golf course is also available. There's a nice fitness area......my only complaint was that some of the cardio equipment could use to be updated. The on-site restaurants are very good.

This was a nice place for a conference. The catering was very good. My only complaint is that the chairs were very uncomfortable after a couple of hours.

We had a very good room rate for the conference. It looks like there numerous special rates for leisure travelers. They automatically add a gratuity for housekeeping and bell service. I don't care for this policy as I didn't need bell service.

The Wigwam is a very nice resort and I would certainly stay again.

  • The Wigwam is pretty awesome!

by paurora on 2017-04-15 10:38 am

We are currently staying at the Wigwam. My husband and I and our daughters are here for 2 nights. Wish it was for longer. We absolutely love this place. It's gorgeous, well laid out, beautifully preserved. We are big fans of the Ojai Valley Inn in California but this might be our go-to getaway spot from now on. We have a huge 2 room suite in a historic casita. It's super comfortable and tastefully decorated. We have none of the shabbiness that some other reviewers mentioned. I honestly cannot find fault with our room at all!
The grounds are beautiful and there are wonderful outdoor activities - bocce ball, ping pong, volleyball, corn hole around the pool area. It has a great overall vibe.
Breakfast at the Wigwam bar was a little stressful-you have to order at the counter and there is a slow line. It took ages for our food - cereal and fruit!!! Then we had to hunt down a spoon as the busser forgot- sounds petty but it was a lot of work and took a super long time.
Other than this, the service, food and comfort here have been great!
It's an amazing value too. Our room would have been 3x the price in California. We'll be back for sure.

Our staff was thrilled to welcome your family to our resort and I'm so happy that you truly had an awesome time here. It's a pleasure to read that you enjoyed our beautiful grounds, the comfort of your room and the large variety of activities offered to you each day. I am sorry to learn that breakfast at the Wigwam bar did not match the impeccable service you received throughout the rest of our resort, and I appreciate you sharing this feedback with us. Your five-star rating is greatly appreciated. We look forward to having you stay with us again soon, here at The Wigwam. Thank you!
