  • Classic elegance

The hotel is grand in its' appearance inside and out. The lobby is like a beautiful palace. You will feel lucky to have chosen the right place. The white flower display I smelled in the morning was replaced with red flowers by the end of the day. When I entered he suite, I was struck by how spacious it was. It feels luxurious and comfortable at the same time. Its not too modern with slick and rigid lines; it's warm and inviting but elegant, too. We were centrally located so you can't go wrong here.

This is the place, book today! We had one night and I wish it would have been a week stay. Top notch service and the beds are to die for! You will fall into them and not want to get out. Nightly turn down service with delicious chocolate mints. What are you waiting for!

  • Willard in January

Beautiful historic building, perfect room (Jenny Lind Suite-ah, the view from the jacuzzi?), gentle, helpful staff; Round Robin bar lively as expected on a Friday night. New delicious Cafe du Parc menu. Walking distance to National Gallery of Art where Vermeer was showing. Sublime!

  • Willard best is itâs past

by ChicagoWolfgan on 2018-01-15 10:27 am

We had two rooms. One for the kids and one for the parents.

We checked in just after NYE. I think someone puked behind the wet bar. The hotel poured a white product to absorb the dampness and mask the stench. Also, the thermostat as not working.

The kids room. Somehow the stench of cigarettes was coming through the bathroom ventilation system. The front desk did send up an electronic ionizer but the smell was not from a past guest, it had to be from an adjoining room or the smoking lounge? It was an on going problem and occurrence and the ionizer lasted for a few hours.

The front desk masked their problems and did not truly address the issues. Moving us would have been an option?

At one time, The Willard was a very nice hotel in maybe the best location in WDC for tourists! But, there are lots of hotels and given the choice, I would choose another hotel over The Willard.

Everyone was very nice, but the management did not address our problems to our satisfaction. If not for the historic structure and old time grander, I would rate it as terrible. Unfortunately, I can not post my picture of the magic white powder, it's not coming up when I hit the photo button. Just imagine a 2 foot long by 3 inch wide carpeted area behind the coffee station / mini bar covered in white powder with a perfume stench. I guess it better than smelling barf?

  • Engagement Weekend

    by Ryan G on 2018-01-15 07:12 am

Our room was generously upgraded to a suite beyond our wildest dreams! Valet parking was reasonably priced and staff was quick to park and retrieve our vehicle. Our room was perfect, clean and with a fantastic view of the Washington Monument. Towels and complimentary chocolates were offered to us within minutes of getting to our room. Enjoyed the champagne and bath tub with bubbles and jets to celebrate our engagement. We will always remember our weekend in DC because of this incredible hotel!
