  • Washington Mardi Gras

    by David B on 2018-02-21 06:37 am

Wow, what a difference a year makes, last year they were renovating the lobby and public space and this year they had it all completed. What an incredible job they did. The executive lounge is worth every penny, it's located on the first floor right off of the lobby, the food is awesome and the staff is even better. The new coffee shop located right next to the front desk is a full service outlet, coffee , sandwiches, quick bites to keep you going. Great donuts , salads and sandwiches. Next to the front desk is also a small gift shop for your Diet Coke fix as well as any toiletries you may have forgotten. The lobby also consist of a bar, breakfast and lunch outlet. The room we had was on the 4th floor, close to the single elevators, it was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The functions we went to in the ballroom were well run and the catering staff could not have been nicer.
The Gm and team should be commended

  • Great hotel, terrible bed

    by 820craigu on 2018-02-18 12:20 am

Stayed in this hotel for two nights on business. The food in the restaurant was ok. Service at the front desk was great. Even got me into my room early. The bed formed a really big "U" shape when I sat on it. If you like a bed that wraps around you, it would be great. Room was clean and staff friendly. Room service delivered on time but forgot to include the orzo that was a highlight of the menu item. Breakfast via room service isn't served until 6.45, tough to make a 7 am meeting.
I would inquire about the bed before I would stay there again.

    820craigu,

Thank you for taking the opportunity to share you experience from your recent stay with us. I am pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, but I am very sorry to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable and found the CBTL delivery hours inconvenient. I have passed your feedback onto both our housekeeping team and our food and beverage team. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.

  • Perfect location

    by Terriann M on 2018-02-16 06:21 am

This hotel is located is a safe part of DC with lots of restaurant and shops.
The rooms were well maintained and most importantly clean. The staff was welcoming and technologically advanced. You can unlock the doors with your smart phone; as well as, you can text them something you need (in my case I needed toothpaste).

I went for a conference. The Washington Hilton was a well maintained property. The rooms were comfortable. The conference area was huge and well equipped. It was a good value. I would them visit again.

  • Great customer service but dogs everywhere

by Godsgloriousworld on 2018-02-13 03:31 am

Customer service, like most establishments in America, was great. Warm welcome and given code for wifi. There were a couple of ladies trying to get us to visit a new property. One of them was a little pushy - not rude, just pushy so we had to dodge her a couple of times when passing through reception. Made our way to our room. Was a bit difficult to find initially. While looking for it passed a few rooms with barking dogs. The room itself had 2 double beds and was spacious but couldn't bear the loud barking dogs as I'm very scared of them. Asked the front desk about moving as we left hotel and they said we could do so when returned. We had been placed on the 4th floor which is the floor they place guests with dogs. We had no dog. It was really late when we returned to hotel and we were shattered but we moved to 6th floor. The next day there was barking on the 6th floor as well. Due to some law people can stay on which every floor they like even thought there's a designated dog floor. One bed so room was smaller but everything looked cleaned. The shower flooded easily when showering but could't face another room change so didn't bother report it. The heater system blew very loudly and was disturbing. Battery in our safe died but was dealt with quickly. Asked for a bathrobe and slippers and they were brought to the room. The slippers were sooo comfortable. Also asked for shower gel as only soap bars were provided and these were brought as were some extra tea bags. There's no kettle but you can use teabags in the coffee brewer. It's a 10 minute walk to the train station (we walked very swiftly due to biting cold). Dupont Circle also has restaurants, bars etc. In the opposite direction there's a Safeway supermarket about 15 mins away. Didn't have breakfast at hotel as it was expensive. Rather there was a diner 10 minutes away which we used. Also there's a bagel shop about 3 minutes away from the hotel. Lots of places for dinner as well. Thai Cafe we thought was great. On the day of checkout we were offered and extra hour but as we wanted to do more site seeing we checked out early. Had to pay $2 to leave our suitcases with concierge. Not a lot of money but van't remember having to pay to leave bags with concierge before. Due to the dog situation, my stay here was extremely uncomfortable. One day we were returning to our room and there was a man which 2 huge dogs, one of which he seemed to be struggling to control. He almost got into the same lift as us but say the look on my face and waited for the next one. Every time I left the room without my husband I dreaded what would happen if I came across a dog. New year's eve was extremely busy which lots of people showing up for the party (we didn't go)but security was stepped up and ether was someone checking room keys as you approached the lifts so that was good.
