  • Very good- needs some tlc

    Arrived late on a cold December nite. Was given a room with a seperate living area. Well appointed, 2 tvs.

    Comfortable bed.

    Pool area was somewhat fixed up.

    Breakfast was good this time!

    Suggestions for an excellent rating:
    1-paint the main entry doors. They are tired and dirty.
    2-check for suitcase damage on hallway walls.
    3-drop the cheap ads/signs in the elevator.

    I look fwd to a return trip!

  • Awful bed, no hot water, insufficient kitchen

    My boyfriend and I used his timeshare points to stay in room 723, a large unit with one bedroom and loft. Unfortunately, there was only 1 bathroom and an awkward positioned room sink with mirror. The shower curtain hooks are awful, constantly falling down. The water gets cold really fast, and all hot water is lost in the bathroom and kitchen.
    The kitchen does not include an oven; 2 burners and a microwave. There is also no dishwasher. While cooking, the pan became warped and bent.
    I woke up several time at night, scratching my legs, feet, and face; waking up with red bumps on myself.
    I wasn't sure it came from the bed, and delayed my alert to staff. Prior to leaving, I did make it aware to the supervisor, whom was quite cold and rude, informing me, it's a time share, and it was too late to make her aware of the issue.
    Please be cautious in staying at this resort and make sure the sheets are clean and the water remains hot.

    The prime rib and lobster were fine, but the meatballs and burger are not that great.

    The ballroom/reception hall looks like it's stuck in the 80's and the chandeliers are dull and filled with dust.

    The only positive is the view of the water, but there is a house to the left (hideous) that they actually rent out to people. It's completely awful looking and outdated with no balcony; prison windows to view the water.

    We hope always to confront guest issues prior to departure. As the only hotel/resort in Connecticut, with both Historic Hotel and Preferred Hotel designations, we take great pride in our customer service. The suite (you stayed in), was renovated this year and never had a dishwasher or oven. We've had no other compalints regarding bed bugs, and if requested, would have certainly placed you in another suite without hesitation. Your personal opinion about our food, ballroom and the Beach house was subjective and unwarranted.

  • Beautiful

    Won a night here in a raffle, for a room that cost 550 before we gave the coupon. As a college kid, can't say it would have been worth it for that amount but hey, if you've got the money it's a great place. We also unfortunately couldn't go until the fall and it rained the whole time, but I can imagine how nice it would be on a nice summer day. Would absolutely have a wedding here. The restaurant is some of the best food I've ever had, hands down. Next time I'm in the area I'll be going back for that, I believe it's open to the public. Overall, great experience.

  • Needs Updating

    I was a guest of Waters Edge over 4 years ago. Since that stay it seems like this hotel/time share is not being taken care of like it used to be. We had an upstairs 6-unit 4 years ago and now we thought we were getting the same unit on this stay. This upstairs had no bathroom upstairs which meant that 6 people had to share one bathroom. The floor in the LR was uneven and slanted. The beds in this unit were not as comfortable as they were 4 years ago. I did not feel that the staff was as pleasant and helpful as they had been in the past.

  • Beautiful Property Right on LI Sound

    The units were very comfortable. I was fortunate to stay in December so I was able to have the added pleasure of enjoying their Christmas decorations. They have beautiful grounds to enjoy short walks.
