The curvaceous, adobe-style architecture and undulating landforms of Santa Fe have inspired generations of artists. This insightful program has been tailor-made for the National Trust to focus on the art, architecture, and landscapes that make Santa Fe a “City of Enchantment.” Experience the charm of this historic capital city while strolling along the Canyon Road art district, visiting a local art collector’s home, exploring Georgia O’Keeffe’s home and studio and the nearby landscapes that inspired her, and going behind-the-scenes at the Santa Fe Opera.
Meet a local Native American artist and learn the history of his craft at the home of a local art collector.
Day 1 | Arrivals & Canyon Road Art Galleries
Following independent, midday arrivals at the Albuquerque airport, board a private coach and transfer as a group to enchanting Santa Fe. Check-in at the centrally located and charming Inn on the Alameda, situated between the historic Santa Fe Plaza and the artfilled galleries of Canyon Road. Enjoy a light welcome reception before taking a walking tour of several galleries along Canyon Road. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Santa Fe’s popular restaurants, featuring traditional New Mexican cuisine.
Day 2 | Georgia O'Keeffe's Home at Abiquiu
This morning, set out for Abiquiu, the private home and studio of Georgia O’Keeffe, the 20th-century artist considered the “Mother of American Modernism.” Take a guided tour of the 5,000-squarefoot, Colonial-era compound restored by O’Keeffe. A local guide leads a special visit of the landscapes of nearby Ghost Ranch that inspired O’Keeffe’s signature work. After a flavorful southwestern lunch, continue to the Santuario de Chimayo, an important site for the thousands of pilgrims who make the journey here each year. Back in Santa Fe, gather with fellow travelers for a wine reception this evening at a local art gallery.
Day 3 | Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
Tour a collector’s elegant, private home and learn about the house’s history while admiring its fine architectural details and impressive art collection. Continue to the Santa Fe Opera for a special behind-the-scenes tour to learn about the fascinating world of opera production and view the open-air facilities built into the landscape. Enjoy a relaxing lunch in downtown Santa Fe. This afternoon, visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, which holds more than 3,000 works including O’Keeffe’s worldrenown landscapes, abstract compositions, and large-scale depictions of natural forms. En route back to the hotel, follow an expert local guide on a walking tour of Santa Fe Plaza, a National Historic Landmark that has been the heart of this city for nearly 400 years.
Day 4 | Native American & Folk Art
Enjoy special tour of the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian with a unique opportunity to meet a local Native American artist and learn the history of his craft. Enjoy free time at the Museum Hill Café for an independent lunch. Then, spend the afternoon exploring the Museum of International Folk Art, home to the largest collection of its kind in the world. Bid a fond farewell to Santa Fe during a grand farewell dinner at Santacafé, a restaurant featuring contemporary and traditional New Mexican cuisine and hailed by The New York Times as “a restaurant to love.”
Day 5 | Departures
After breakfast, board a transfer to the Albuquerque airport for independent departures this afternoon.

A deposit of $1,000 per paying participant is required to guarantee participation in the program. This deposit may be paid by check or by Visa or MasterCard. Final payment will be invoiced and is due on March 7, 2016, by check only made out to International Seminar Design, Inc. Registrants will be accepted beyond this date on a space-available basis with payment in full by check only.
International Seminar Design, Inc. (ISDI) acts only as an agent for the participant with respect to transportation, accommodations, and all other services relating to this tour. ISDI, the National Trust, and/or their agents assume no responsibility or liability for any act, error or omission, or for any injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity, which may be caused by any defect in any aircraft, ship, train, bus, or other carrier, or through neglect or default of any subcontractor or other third party, which may be used wholly or in part in the performance of their duty to the participants of this tour. ISDI and NTHP reserve the right to cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason including insufficient numbers of participants, as well as the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of the tour at any time. If bookings fall below the minimum required, passengers will be advised of additional costs or itinerary alterations before departure date.
All cancellations must be received in writing by ISDI, and are subject to a non-refundable administrative fee of $500 per person. Written cancellation received by ISDI on or before March 7, 2016: full refund minus $500 per person administrative fee. Written cancellation received by ISDI between March 8 and May 1, 2016: 50 percent of tour cost per person. Cancellations received on or after May 2, 2016: no refund. After the tour has commenced, it is not possible to issue any refunds. No refunds for any unused portion of a tour including, but not limited to, occasional missed meals or any missed sightseeing tours. Costs for promotion, staff, and other group expenses are not refundable. In the case of cancellation, substitutions are not accepted. Tour cost is non-transferable. If ISDI or the NTHP cancels a tour, active registrants will receive a full refund of all tour payments. A package of cancellation, baggage, and medical insurance is strongly recommended.
