  • Excellent base for a sightseeing holiday

    This was the perfect location to be based for access to all the top sightseeing venues. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The apartments are very clean and have everything you could need. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definately use them again

  • Great find in Times Square

    I would highly recommend the AKa Times Square for your next NYC trip! Great location, comfortable residential style room with a separate living area and bathroom and great staff. Complimentary coffee and tea on the terrace is always a bonus. I can't wait to try the other AKA properties.

  • Business and family style

    Excellent location, spacious rooms... Outside of the heating system and TV dishes... Also a great choice for the lounge!

    For families or business a very good choice just on the side of Times Square.

    Beware, no breakfast but often a kitchen... Not a bad option especially with coffee served upstairs.

  • Great and well located

    This is our 3rd stay here. We've also stayed AKA Central Park and AJA Washington. We're 60s/70s. We value space and convenience. There is heaps of both at AKATimes Square. Just one block from the craziness but quiet. Full range of services including in room washing machine and dryer - worth it's weight in gold after 2 weeks on the road. Yes there's no restaurant on site, but Cafe Un Deux Trois is next door, and it's great, and there's a
    convenience store across the road. There's a great Lounge with rooftop views. Housekeeping was great (not daily but more than enough) and front office staff we lovely. We recommend this place very highly. The negative reviews are way outside our experience.

  • Get insurance

    This is the first time I write a review in my life. Have been to NYC countless times. Decided to innovate. My younger son does not eat well when traveling so I wanted a place with a full kitchen to guarantee at least one good meal a day. The weather was expected to be cold, and we had several Broadway tickets for the kids, so being in the Theater District would be nice. The AKA Times Square seemed an obvious choice for 8 nights. Not inovating anymore. I got a two bedroom. When we arrived, the heating was not working. I complained. We got an engineer who said it was only a matter of reseting. A few hours later, still cold. I complained again. We got a new room. It was almost the same. Slightly smaller. After what happened I expected at least slightly better. But ok. On the day before the last I asked for a two and a half hours late checkout. I was told this could only be confirmed by "management" at the morning of departure. I decided to change my plans and don't rely on a possible late checkout. At the same night, while cooking, one of the electric burners of the stove would not turn off. That was actually the second time I was having an issue with the same stove. An engineer came in and turned off the fuse. And then came the accident. There was a TV in the living room, connected to a panel in front of a sofa where the family and I would watch TV. We were already at bed when we heard a loud noise. We came running out and the panel had fallen from the dry wall, crushing the TV on the sofa. If one of us had been there, well, don't want to even think what would have happened. After everything was cleaned, went back to the bedrooms. Some TV for the kids to cool down would be nice. Oh, wait, Direct TV stopped working. I am still at the hotel while writing this. Better go to sleep and pray the ceiling won't fall off. Just to end with something good, most of the staff seems nice.

    I want to personally apologize for the many issues you encountered during your stay. I'm happy to hear we were able to rectify the heating issue by switching you over to another two bedroom suite. While we recognize your concern that your second suite was smaller, I do want to confirm that all our two bedroom suites are approximately 850 sq feet.

    Regarding late departures, we always try our very best to accommodate late check out requests. This all depends on availability which is why there is no late check out guarantee until the day of departure.

    As an unforeseen circumstance of our TV and panel that fell off, we're very thankful no one was hurt. I'm truly sorry your family was startled and further inconvenienced with our satellite-based TV programming which was adversely affected by the inclement weather.

    Your stay with us did not meet our usual brand standards, and we will work closely with our team to ensure that oversights such as the ones you experienced do not happen again.
