  • A place like no other

    by Madison S on 2018-09-04 09:12 am

If you haven't yet been to the most amazing resort in the world, you have to check out Cavallo Point. Not only is this historic property beautiful and kept up very nicely by staff members/management, but the friendliness of each employee of the resort is just incredible. I have never before felt so welcomed and 'at home' during a stay.

What really sets Cavallo Point apart from other luxury resorts is the combination of being located in a beautiful national park and the rich history, that the grounds it rests on, offers. Prior to the military occupying Fort Baker were the beautiful natives. They were the first settlers of this site and it has been said that they used this land to perform peaceful, sacred rituals. Anyone that has walked the grounds/stayed at Cavallo Point can attest to the fact that there is just something special about the feeling of peace that this area brings. Trust me, if you go to Cavallo Point you will feel at peace/at ease, because that is the gift of Cavallo Point.

  • Amazing lodge in amazing location

by Newtnews on 2018-09-03 04:47 pm

Cavallo Point Lodge is in a national park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, nestled in a cove at the northern base of the Golden Gate Bridge. When the weather cooperates, the view is phenomenal. But it's a park - take a walk, sail a boat, go to the Children's Discovery Museum, or just relax in the rocking chairs on the porch. The Murray Circle restaurant is also top of the line with great food. The buildings are former military housing with luxurious appointments and spectacular service. Valet parking, Healing Center & Spa, Fitness center, etc. They will provide a shuttle to Sausalito or San Francisco and you may use a Lexus for 3 hours at no charge.

  • Great resort, great cooking school

by ICUR on 2018-09-02 11:16 am

Make sure that if you want to have a view of the golden gate bridge or San Fran, you (1) get a room that actually looks out over said views (2) Fogaust will obscure any views anyway (fog in August).
The rooms are spacious and have a nice fireplace as well. They offer a terrific service to drive you into the nearest town (Sausailto), in a hybrid Lexus, no less. The resort is a little bit isolated (nothing within 20 minute walking distance) but I believe that is why the offer the free shuttles into the local town.Yet the onsite restaurant and bar are top-notch.
For those wanting cell service, this area is notorious for not having it reliably (especially AT&T). Not just the resort, but the whole area.
The cooking school that is offered here I highly recommend. A way to spend a very nice evening cooking your own food and enjoying every bite. The Chef and his associate chefs where wonderful and overall enjoyable (corny food jokes aside).
A bit pricey for average travelers and not in "the middle of things", but if you want to just relax near San Fran, a choice destination.

    Owner Response
    Dear ICUR,
Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the cooking school as well as our complimentary shuttles to downtown Sausalito and the city.
    Kind regards,
    Brendan

  • Nice Stay!

by alolewis on 2018-08-27 04:29 am

Stayed for three nights for a romantic weekend away. Stayed in one of the old buildings. Room was very nice and nicely furnished. Bathroom was huge!! Service was great, all the employees we met were friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel has many small amenities that made a great stay such as an umbrella in the room, earplugs for the fog horn, fine bathroom products, etc.

  • Bucket list hotel!

by travelbirdette on 2018-08-25 02:21 pm

What a fabulous location and property! The entire property has sublime views onto the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline. It feels accessible enough to the city, but remote enough to be rejuvenating. The townhouse rooms are enormous and appointed luxuriously. The only thing I could consider missing was a towel warmer. What we did enjoy was: large patio, water filter, deep-soak tub, fireplace, turn-down service, comfy lounge area, Lexus "check outs", shuttle service to SF, and many animal sightings (deer, sea lions, jelly fish). The service was exceptional. I will stay here as often as my budget allows!
