Overview

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown has been a celebrated local landmark for more than a century. Recently renovated into a hotel, the location was originally founded as the Stambaugh Building during the early 20th century. Designed by noted industrial architect Albert Kahn, the Neo-Classical structure was financed by the prominent Stambaugh family, who were central figures in the development of Youngstown’s historic steel and iron industries. When the Stambaugh Building debuted in 1907, it stood as a one of Youngstown’s tallest skyscrapers.

Today, the DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown has been fully updated with modern amenities while preserving its historic charm. The caring service begins at check-in, when guests receive a famous DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie, made fresh daily using the DoubleTree’s own secret recipe. From there, preserved décor such as marble wainscoting, will lead guests to newly renovated accommodations. The hotel offers 125 guestrooms and 17 suites, each featuring complimentary WiFi, a 50 inch HDTV, large illuminated bath mirror, and a walk-in shower. Guests can catch up after a long day of sightseeing at Bistro 1907 over classic American dishes and refreshing cocktails. It is easy to stay fit in the hotel's complimentary fitness center and the convenience store is available for those on the go. Meetings and events at the hotel will surely be memorable in the top-floor ballroom with it 13 foot ceilings, Palladian windows, and vast views of downtown.

Located in the heart of Youngstown, Ohio, the DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown is steps away from downtown attractions such as the Covelli Center, the Arms Family Museum, and the Stambaugh Auditorium, a non-profit public auditorium which opened in 1926 after a generous gift from Henry Stambaugh. Its proximity to public transportation makes exploring downtown easy. Youngstown has several options for local food and dining, as well as independent shops and several art and entertainment venues. Including the Butler Institute of American Art and the McDonough Museum of Art.

DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown, a member of Historic Hotels of America since 2019, dates back to 1907.

Fun Fact Original mahogany doors from 1907 were salvaged and used as decorative elements throughout the building. They do not open or function, but add to the character of the hotel.
