  • Tanner/Front Desk Manager Saved The Day!

    by Don C on 2019-10-14 03:45 pm

The Fairmont is an excellent hotel. It's well located, beautifully appointed for the luxury or business traveler.

I was most impressed by "Tanner" the front desk manager. He's a first class gentleman who has wonderful tact to work with an unhappy customer!

Priceline booked us into the hotel. When we arrived we learned that Priceline booked a room for us that wasn't available due to 100% occupancy. I wasn't happy at all after making a long flight. In fact, I was angry.

Here comes Tanner. I can't say thank you enough. He attempted to locate another room for us at another hotel but all were booked. He was able to open up space, upgraded us to a suite and kept his calm under pressure.

We travel the world often. In all our years of travel to 5 star resorts I've never met anyone in the hotel business, our outside of it, that has customer service capacity at his level.

We'll be back to enjoy the hotel again.
Thank you Tanner! I am sure you remember me! You're the best!

  • Old world elegance

Each and every time I stay here reminds me of great trips to Europe. Fine dining, good spa, and great staff combine to help me relax and enjoy this great city even more. The brunch is not to be missed. Nice music at happy hour. Very comfortable rooms through the hotel.

  • Stands Out Among Similarly Priced, Located Peers

by SinceYouAsk on 2019-10-09 06:14 am

This Fairmont has all the fine finishes you've come to associate with a Fairmont property (and if you haven't stayed at a Fairmont before, think newer finishes, clean and probably business-leaning facilities), but the location of this property (albeit across from a construction site) is ideal for those wishing to traverse downtown Seattle by foot.

The market is just down the hill, great restaurants around the corner (we didn't try a meal on-site, but there are restaurants within the hotel) and easy to go anywhere with highway access right there too.

When we looked, this property was similarly priced and appointed to many of its competitors, but knowing the level of integrity of the Fairmont brand, our choose was simple. It should be for you too!

  • Beautiful, Charming Hotel, with exceptional service

    by Quest776340 on 2019-10-08 07:04 pm

A special oasis in a hustling, busting, growing city. The Staff was extremely attentive and the cocktails, food (breakfast & lunch), desserts were great. Highly recommend for anyone looking to be pampered.

    Owner Response

  • Best experience I could have hoped for!!

    by Samantha K on 2019-10-08 06:44 pm

I was travelling with my 8 year old daughter. We had taken the Amtrack from Vancouver to Seattle for a one night stay before cruising home the next day. When we got to the train station at 10:30pm, there was a very long line for a taxi. Google maps said that we were only a 15 minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to hoof it. What I didn't know was that the walk took us through a not so nice part of town, there were people in sleeping bags lying on the street. I didn't feel unsafe, but was a little nervous being a woman with a child walking at night. While we were walking, it started to rain. When we finally got to the Fairmont Olympic, I was in awe of how beautiful the hotel was!! My daughter said even the Queen of England would be happy to stay there. We were greeted by the most lovely lady at reception. She asked how my night was. I heaved a sigh, and said, "better now". She said not to worry, that I was in good hands. She was very sweet with my daughter and quickly got us checked in. To my surprise, we had been upgraded to a top floor suite. We walked in to our room, and it was spectacular. Perfect little sitting room, and a beautiful king bed. There was a Nespresso machine which also had decaf pods. I made a coffee and we ordered room service. My only complaint was that it was $33 USD for a BLT, fries and a glass of chocolate milk. The sandwich was average and the fries were cold. Was a little disappointed to have paid so much. The next morning, we put on robes from the room, and went down to the pool, which was exactly what we needed!! My daughter swam while I sat in the hot tub watching her. The lady that was working at the pool/gym, came over and brought a robe that was my daughters size, (she was wearing the adult one that was in the room). I thought it was lovely that the lady would think to do that. Just that added little bit of service that you would hope for from a hotel, but rarely get elsewhere. When we were done swimming, we noticed fresh fruit and coffee/tea at the desk of the pool. We made tea to take back to our room. I called to request late check out, which they told me that they could accommodate and we had until 1:00pm. This allowed us the time to go to the Parkland Zoo, before checking out. We were so grateful for that! Checkout was a breeze, and we had the most amazing apple pie croissant at the cafe in the lobby before leaving. When we were leaving, I asked the valet to hail us a cab. There weren't any cabs at that moment but he was able to convince an airport only taxi driver who was dropping off a fair, to take us to the pier. Over all, from start to finish, this was an amazing experience!! I will always pay the extra few dollars to stay at the Fairmont. I know I'm getting consistent, top notch service. Thank you and kudos to all the lovely staff at Fairmont Olympic.
