  • Stay Here

We stayed here for our visit to the Andrew Johnson site. Greeneville has a very pleasant historic downtown. The story of General Morgans demise took place in a few very interesting historical spots surrounding this hotel which is sure to impress. Our basic room was very clean and comfortable with an above average bed. The service was very welcoming and appropriate. Over all huge bang for the dollar. The hotel restaurant Brumlys was top notch and the complimentary breakfast was impressive. Very impressed with Greeneville TN(Franklin)

  • Charming and convenient

This hotel was suggested by the front desk attendant at Hampton Inn. While we enjoy staying with the Hilton chain of hotels, I am so thankful we got to experience The General Morgan Inn. This historical building is gorgeous! The decor is updated and comfortable yet reflects greatly a previous era, so it's the best of both worlds. The desk clerks were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and available around the clock. There was a basket of apples available so guests could enjoy a healthy snack, and they also kept ice water with lemons in the lobby.

  • Nice Local Getaway!

We live about an hour away from the General Morgan Inn so decided to book a stay for our anniversary. We booked their "Romance" package. The package included truffles and champagne or sparkling cider in our room; a gift certificate for Brumley's restaurant and then breakfast. The hotel was nice, our room large, clean and the bed wonderful! The staff were all very friendly. We had a really nice stay but we were disappointed in a few " communications" items.
When we made the reservations, it would have been nice if they asked us our preference on champagne or cider (champagne was put in our room and I don't drink), we should have been asked if we wanted to make reservations for dinner when the hotel reservations were made, and we were never given information about the breakfast (what time, where.....). We had to ask about everything. We also would have liked to find more information on the history of the hotel - we walked all over the hotel looking.
Despite that we DID have a good time!!

  • Beautiful Historic Inn

by karinroseman on 2019-02-25 11:40 am

Beautifully appointed rooms with fridge and freezer. Very comfortable. Large bathrooms. Our view wasn't great overlooking a roof of some sort. Hotel restaurant has very limited hours on Sunday and closed Monday. Limited restaurants in the area. There is quite a bit of construction nearby and most of the surrounding storefronts are empty. Stop by Catalyst Coffee next door for a fabulous latte and enjoy the beautiful churches while on a walk around the block. Lovely fireplace and seating area in the lobby.
