  • Perfection!!

    by jona1977 on 2019-07-15 10:43 am

This was one of the best hotels/inns my wife and I have ever stayed at. An absolute beautiful property. Our room was great with a super comfy bed. The grounds are immaculate. The staff is friendly. The breakfast, which is included with your stay, was delicious. Big menu to choose from. We ordered the chocolate covered strawberries, and for $15 you get 6 of the best you'll ever have. We cannot wait to go back!

Just a really relaxing weekend getaway. The property grounds are amazing, beautifully landscaped and well taken care of. Our rooms was a large suite very clean and we could not have asked for better accommodations. A quiet peace of heaven. Dinner at the Inn was also wonderful and the service was perfect. Breakfast was a huge plus !!!

  • Inn with it all

We stayed in a Packhouse suite, with jetted tub and robes, and huge walk in shower. The select comfort bed allowed my husband and I to both pick the best settings. The lines on the bed were luxurious, and the room was huge. We walked the beautiful trails and saw the cattle grazing. Dinner was fabulous, with a nice menu, my pasta was wonderful and his steak cooked to perfection, breakfast great!

  • A blissful anniversary interrupted by a discourteous proprietor - unacceptable!

    Awful experience.

    - My wife and I were both ill (through the following morning) after dining in the restaurant
    - Not enough water pressure to fill the beautiful jacuzzi tub or take a suitable shower
    - Satellite television inoperative in our room
    - No housekeeping service - made our own bed after waiting until 5:30pm
    - No offer of accommodation in what I assumed would be a relaxing weekend with my wife
    - Buildings are in need of a good make-over as they are showing their age

    On the bright side:

Beautiful, relaxing wooded paradise that is quiet and suitable for long, relaxing walks.

I believe you couldn't find better scenery from your room - wildlife abounds.

Overall - this COULD have been a wonderful relaxing anniversary to remember, but not in the manner in which my wife and I experienced.

I am very disappointed and wish that management would take more care as you offer serenity and peace, please allow your guests to enjoy it.

The morning of our departure (we left after two nights) we were approached by the 'owner' and he was quite confrontational and simply stated "I don't believe any of your complaints!".

I assured him that I did not wish any ill will towards him and I appreciated him taking the time to meet us while we had breakfast.

I advised that I would be delighted to change my review if he would address the disappointing issues we had.

He simply stated "Are you checking out today?" I advised him that we were. He responded "Good! I don't want you to ever come back".

Be assured as a gentleman I will honor his request as I've been a CEO of many corporations throughout my 40-year career and have NEVER been treated in such a disrespectful manner.

Such a disappointment as we expected an anniversary weekend of peace, quiet and most importantly respect.

    Thank you

  • Anniversary Getaway / Babymoon!

My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the Glasbern, and we came away very satisfied! We were expecting at the time, so we wanted to get away but not too far from home. We booked a couples massage (prenatal for me, Swedish for him), and they offered to check us in early at 2:30pm and then head to the spa at 3:00pm. The front desk and spa staff were very kind, welcoming, and professional. We spent some time at the pool before cleaning up for our included Mid-Week Escape Package 3 course dinner. I got the salmon, and my husband got the ribeye- both very good! The bacon wrapped date appetizer was surprisingly delicious as well! For dessert we had the cheesecake (not great) and bread pudding (excellent). We took advantage of some of the walking trails and thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous landscaping! The koi pond, rock garden, and just picturesque accents put it over the top! We went down to see the alpacas and got to see quite a few baby alpacas that had been born only in the past few days!

We stayed in room 35 at the Stables Suites with the lofted soaker tub. We loved our room! It got cool in the evening, so we cozied up with the fireplace as well! The sleep number king bed made for a good night sleep. Breakfast the following morning was again delightful. I had the vanilla creme br?l?e French toast and bacon, and my husband got the Eggs Benedict Florentine with potatoes and bacon. These hot entrees were included in addition to the continental breakfast as a part of our package. We slowly sipped our coffee at our fireside table in the dining room, not rushed or crowded at all. Overall, our trip was delightful. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic getaway with emphasis on relaxation and comfort, this is a good option!
