  • Husband needed treatment at Dartmouth Hitchcock

    While I was not here for pleasure I did stay for two nights as my husband was having treatments at Dartmouth Hitchcock.. I was given a discount rate the first night ( very sweet ) the following night they could not offer the same rate .. They did put me in a beautiful room on the top floor and I had a very quiet room .. The staff is exceptional and very kind ,especially the valet guys ,they brought my car around a few times a day .. There is a 25 dollar fee per day , but it was so worth every penny to have a heated and clean car as it snowed one of the nights .. I had dinner in my room both nights as I was at the hospital for most of the day .. The food was exceptional..I had the burger one night that was yummy.. also splurged and had some chocolate homemade ice cream and it was some of the best I have ever had .. I also had the Brussel spout salad that was phenomenal.. While it was not a pleasure trip ,they made sure I was treated extremely well and felt safe and comfortable.. I would stay again .. It's very close to the hospital and when things are stressful it's nice to know you are in a safe and comforting place to lay your head .. Thank you all for your kindness and good healthy food !!! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for pleasure or comfort when you need to feel safe and close to someone in the hospital .. Momkaz

  • Classic !

    The Hanover Inn is a beautiful classic Inn. Thick soft comforters on great beds guarantee a good nights sleep.The valets are polite and attentive to all needs. The Inn allowed me to bring my little dog Zorra and we had a wonderful room with a view.

  • Excellent place for a light lunch

    Restaurant changes the menu at 2:00 pm to a light lunch menu. But still with plenty of tasty options. Burger is recommended. Service and ambience is excellent and the price is right. Definitely has the feel of an alumni hangout, especially on game day.

  • Beautiful room with attentive service staff

    This is a perfect location and a really comfortable room. I highly recommend the Hanover Inn. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had perfect water pressure! It is central for all the restaurants and shops.

  • discriminatory practices

    I came back to this hotel on a business trip for 1 week. We arrived after long flight to Boston and 3 hour drive. We checked-in around 10 pm.
    The reservation was made via American Express Business Travel one week prior to check-in date.

    Front desk handed us the keys and we went up to the room.

    Since room was on the last floor and I was hoping for an upgrade.

    They gave us Harry Potter room!!! I could not stand-up straight. it is basically attic that they have converted to a room and sell at regular price. And they are not cheap. - 300$

    I called front desk. I told them it is not the room I have booked. They did offered different rooms of course right away and after I promised legal actions we were moved to a suite.

    But I could not help to wonder why front desk gave me the worst possible room to begin with?

    On the day of the departure I called front desk to ask if late check out was possible. Spoke with manager Chris B.
    She said the following:
    "We have VIP person arriving to that room..."

    Wait ... I am not important enough? is my cash not the same as other person?

    It finally hit me. When they look at me they do not see young professional American on a business trip. They see an immigrant who does not deserve anything maybe an attic. You have to belong.

    Never in my 20 years living in USA, a hotel made me feel like a second class citizen.
