  • Great Location and Grounds

    Stayed here for a couple of days while attending an onsite wedding. We stayed in the back building, which is more of a traditional hotel/motel setup. The rooms could use a bit of an update for sure but I thought the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and had adequate hot water. The only complaint about the room was that the TV reception was pretty spotty... especially in this day and age. The grounds and pool were very well kept and we found the staff to be both friendly and helpful.

  • Very overpriced and overrated!

    Our stay here was a big let down unfortunately. I had high expectations of this hotel because it is highly rated overall on most websites and I assumed when you're paying close to $400/night the hotel will deliver..not so much. My first impression was not very positive at all, I walk up to the check in desk and the gentleman behind the desk did not bother making eye contact with me and said he will help me in just a moment in a manner that made me feel like I was a nuisance to him. Another gentleman approached the desk and he was instructed by the first gentleman I interacted with to check me in. The two exchanged very sarcastic remarks to each other, one saying let me take care of this chaos(referring to a stack of papers) and you can create your own chaos. The second gentleman proceeded to check me in and again I felt like I was a nuisance to him as well...overall not a great start and I did not feel welcomed at all. If anything I walked away from that concerned and wondering what kind of place this is...I told myself to give it a chance and I tried,however, from that point things didn't improve very much at all unfortunately. When we walked into our room I immediately smelled a very musty odor and noticed some stains on the carpet and a lot of chipped paint throughout the walls of the room. I didn't give it much thought being that we are only staying here one night(thankfully!) and my husband and I were in a rush to get to concierge so we can make some plans for the day..we get to concierge and nobody is there. I ask the Bell hop if he knew when she would return and he wasn't sure so he asked the gentleman at the check in counter where she may be and he said he thought she went to the bathroom but he wasn't quite sure. I decided to wait around for her..a good 10-15 minutes goes by and still no concierge, I ask again when/if she is returning and both Bell hop and gentleman at the check in counter said they do not know. My 1 year old daughter was becoming impatient so I decided to ask the Bell hop and the gentleman at check in some questions and they gave me some advice on where to go/things to do..they did the best job they could but certainly not the way a person in concierge would(and I wouldn't expect them to it's not their job) I have to mention the Bell hop was an absolute sweetheart, very welcoming and warm..so I felt a bit better about things...that's until we got back to our room that night and I got a closer look at the bathroom..it was FILTHY! The vent in the bathroom had so much dust built up on it I wonder if it's ever been cleaned, the grout along the tub on the floor was moldy and dusty as my pictures show. This is completely unacceptable and is certainly not indicative of a 3.5 Star hotel that is charging $400/night. Once I see filth like this all bets are off, I would never recommend anyone to stay here, it's completely overpriced and overrated.

  • Do not stay in building behind main hotel.

    The main building is lovely and has a beautiful view, but can't vouch for rooms.
    Back building is horrible.
    Constant damp feeling with mildew odor, which is concerning to breath. TV did not work consistently, and half the channels (the movies) had no sound. Could not plug bedside lamp into outlet as headboard is attached to wall, so that was there just for looks.
    My minor child was traumatized by hearing couple next door, doing couple things as walls are so thin.
    Overall so disappointing for $500 a night.
    Front desk did comp us one night, which they should have. Building needs complete renovation.

  • Great Place Centrally Located

    The Hotel is within two blocks of ferry and one block from bike rental. Hotel serves continental breakfast and encourages those guests to take it up to the cupola. Great view of the harbor. The hotel also ha a couple of great restaurants within two blocks. For breakfast (if not doing continental at the hotel) try Waterside Market. It's a Triple D destination. For dinner try La Soffitta. Great Italian food in a cozy setting.
    Great time, great rooms, great location.

  • Best Location

    This is a great place to stay. The building has a lot of character. The staff is very attentive. The view from the front is beautiful. It's a short walk from the stores and restaurants.
    I enjoyed the front porch and the rocking chairs. It is very relaxing to sit there and watch the boats move in and out.

    Please note, that the hotel is expected to close for renovation at the end of the month.
