  • Would stay again definitely!!!

    We made the long drive to this hotel and while the weather was balmy, overcast, this heated is the best part of our trip to Edgartown. The staff were awesome, the concierge so engaging! I m sorry I haven't had a chance to comment right after the trip, but we made many memories and mostly appreciate the manager who discovered my husband had some limitations and restrictions and upgraded us to a captains cottage. It's the best treatment we have EVER received on a trip, they cottage was amazing, all we wanted to do was hand out on the property. Watched the filming of a automobile commercial, sailboats going in and out of the harbor, sitting on the beautiful porch and enjoying coffee. All so memorable, thank you Harbor View!!!

    This is the best of the best in hotels at the Vineyard / first class all the way . The staff will do anything and guide you in and out of the hotel. i look forward to coming back next year on a private visit

    Wouldn't stay there again if it was free. Management was rude. Arrive on Friday night and couldn't have a wine or drink. A wedding party had booked the bar for the evening. 54 degrees and no heat. They hadn't turned it on. No extra blankets available. No apologies available either. Very run down. Floors are awful in Bldr. 2... poor wine selection. Bathroom shower curtain had endured a Frat Party but not well. Ripped and torn.
    Go to Kelly's. It Great.

  • Disorganized and Bad customer service

    My friend went here for her honeymoon a last week. I had called the front desk and purchased a gift certificate for her to use at the hotel restaurants during her stay. I purchased it over the phone and they assured me that they would give her the gift certificate upon check-in. I also told my friend to ask the front desk for it.

    Unfortunately the front desk did not give her the gift certificate even when she asked. I called today to get a refund because her honeymoon is over and she never received her gift. The front desk person acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me a refund and that they "don't normally do this." They refused to connect me to a manager to make them aware of the situation. I wanted to let them know that there is clearly a communication breakdown happening at the front desk, and management should be aware of this process issue.

    It is completely unacceptable that I purchased a gift for several hundred dollars and they pretended that it didn't exist. I can't speak to the quality of the rooms, but the hospitality and service is definitely lacking. Would not recommend.

    Having come from Boston and the smallest room/bathroom ever, our spacious room in the Mayhew building was a nice surprise.
    We're low maintenance travellers, didn't use the lifts, TV, phone or in house restaurant so can't comment on those. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was good and there was plenty of room for our toiletries. The d?cor is a bit bland, but The location is residential and quiet and is a very pleasant 10-15 minute stroll into the main town. The porch and entrance lounge area are attractive, with views to the lighthouse and water and the gardens are well-kept and pretty.
    A small point- we arrived at 3 for 4pm check-in and our room wasn't ready- fair enough. The gentleman receptionist would try to call us but was concerned when told we didn't have a USA mobile no.( although not sure why as we have international calling on our phones) but that our room was guaranteed for 4pm. We settled in the lounge a few steps from reception. When I went back after 4 it was clear the receptionist had changed and there was no system for alerting waiting guests when the room was actually ready. Everything was then completed speedily and efficiently by the young lady receptionist.
    We had a pleasant stay
