    The Hassayampa is a lovely historic hotel and maybe I should have thought more about the word "historic" when I made the reservation. But so many reviews were positive that I decided any concerns about an older property were unwarranted. I was wrong.
    PROS: Location is great. In the middle of downtown and close to restaurants, shops and museums. The restaurant for breakfast and lunch is quite good and reasonable. The servers are efficient and friendly.
    CONS: We had a king suite. The bedroom area was so small the bed hardly fit. And the bathroom is a joke it is so tiny. We asked for another room with a more spacious bathroom and were told "they're all the same". The WiFi is extremely slow and sometimes non existent. We were on the 4th floor so maybe it's too far away from the router? The elevator is historic and must be operated by an employee. So this means asking an employee behind the desk to leave her or his post. And if they were busy it could mean a wait. The lobby area is beautiful and large but the way the furniture is situated you cannot have a conversation with four people. We met friends from Tucson and we couldn't find a spot where it was conducive to conversation.

  • Lost our special request

    I only have one requirement when we travel. A room with a tub for my wife. Not a handicap room but rather just a room with a tub. I booked 2-3 months ahead with that request.No such room was available upon check in. We promptly canceled. It was very inconvenient. I will never book here again, nor will I recommend this hotel. There are too many choices to be forced to deal with complete incompetence.

    I am sorry randy but as we replied in the other sites you posted you did not specify the request in the reservation you made online as we did not have the request.
    It is our pleasure to deliver service and exceed expectations so your thoughts of us not wanting to provide your request goes against everything we believe in.
    We, unfortunately, were sold out and had no rooms to accommodate that request at the time of your arrival. You are more than welcome to post on all sites as you are and I will continue to respond as I am sorry for your inconvenience and the first to admit when we make an error but I will defend my team as this error was not theirs. We wish you the best in the future.

  • outdated rooms and terrible service

    We stayed in this hotel a few days ago, for only 1 night. Upon the arrival the receptionist didn't even take the time to say hi or whatever, She just looked at us and ' yes...what can I do?' Duh...we are checking in! We also had some other questions (where to park the motor bikes etc), she was only really bothered by all that.
    The room we stayed in was really small and totally outdated. We even found a pair of socks of the previous guests....so far about cleanliness. At departure we explicitly asked what the hotel would do with the claim on the debit card (the one they hold for incidentals)...that would, like always, just be cancelled. We just found out that the claim on that card was actually made by the hotel, so we now have to bother to get that money refunded. We will never stay at this hotel again ever.

    I am very sorry to hear of your concerns and cleanliness with your recent stay. This is the first I am hearing of "items" left in the room and can assure you that and the welcoming will be addressed. Your debit card for incidentals as at all hotels is only an authorization and will remove up to 75 hours after depending on your bank. There are no actions you will need to take. The room you booked is the smallest room type available on property so I am sorry it was not modern spacious. The hotel is a Historic Inn with well preserved original antique wood furniture so I am sorry it will never be a modern location. I would be happy to discuss with you and again I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Wonderful historic hotel

    This is a historic hotel, so expect it to have steps, stairs, maybe smaller rooms (we were upgraded to a beautiful room with two queen beds and a parlor so not a problem for us) and maybe less soundproofing than modern hotels. That having been said it is a wonderful place to stay, charming staff, excellent location, beautiful building that has been well preserved and maintained. The common areas (bar, lobby etc.) are spacious, beautifully furnished places to hang out. Parking in the lot across the street is convenient and easy. Just a very short walk from the main square in Prescott. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with a small microwave and fridge. Our bathroom was more than adequate with good quality supplies. I would highly recommend staying here if in Prescott.

  • Elegant Historic Inn

    Elegant, charming, quaint, classy, historic - these are the adjectives to describe Hassayampa Inn. This is a beautiful hotel dating back to 1927 (but fully restored I think in the 1980's or 90's). From the grand lobby to the simple yet upscale dining room, everything about this hotel is to love. The location just a block from Whiskey Row is ideal as well. Room was not huge but was definitely comfortable. Decor was stylishly retro but also included modern amenities like microwave, refrigerator, and flat screen television (the latter of which seems unnecessary in a location like this). I would not hesitate to stay here again.
