  • Lovely historic hotel within walking distance to downtown

by lqydcrystal on 2019-03-19 01:25 pm

Husband and I recently stayed at Hassayampa Inn for our 6th year wedding anniversiary. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of urband Phoenix.

    Pros:
    - Historic charm
    - Excellent service from registration and restaurant. Breakfast in restaurant was really good and not pricey.
    - Walking distance to bars, restaurants, galleries, and shops in Downtown Prescott

    Cons:
    - Rooms are a bit small from what you are accustomed to modern hotels. Pack light.
    - Acoustics of walls and floors are not great. Could hear people from next room and floors are squeaky. Bring earplugs if you want a good nights rest.
    - Restaurant/bar closes early, even on weekends. Also, most restaurants in the downtown Prescott close early. Plan accordingly.

  • Nice and historic, but if you want to sleep.....

    by ronnie20 on 2019-03-13 07:02 am

The Inn is a nice property, with lovely historic charm, as has been mentioned in many reviews. It has a nice cosy bar with live music. The staff is very good and the rooms very clean. However, if you're expecting to get a good night's sleep, well, don't bet on it. I stayed three nights while attending a conference- Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My room was pretty small, but well appointed. The problem, squeaky floors and loud hallways. Anyone that walked past sounded like they were in your room. Any sound echoed- people talking down the hall, people shutting their doors and the live music from downstairs could be heard distinctly in my third floor room. The Inn is very convenient for walking to downtown shops and restaurants.

    Hello Ronnie,
Thank you for your review. We value our guests opinions whether they are positive or negative and your concern is one that others have had as well. We have done what we can do while maintaining the historic significance of the hotel to update and fix any issues that we have. I am sorry that it hindered your sleep and if you would like to speak with me personally, I would be happy to speak with you.

  • Great location and a lovely historic inn

by JenDzw on 2019-03-07 10:02 am

This was our second time staying at the Hassayampa Inn and we enjoyed it both times. The inn is in an excellent location for walking to restaurants, bars, the town square and nice neighborhoods. It would be challenging for people who don't walk well, but we liked doing the stairs. This is the first time we tried the Peacock Room restaurant in the hotel and we had a very nice dinner there - great food and service. The rooms are small - as expected in a historic hotel - but very clean and well cared for. Nice staff.

Loved staying a night on this Historic Hotel! The decor is beautiful and it's perfect for walking around Prescott as it is in a great location! The staff was very friendly and hospitable. If you stay the night in Prescott you will want to stay here.

  • Incredible Historic Hotel

    by Lori C on 2019-03-03 07:15 am

This is our second visit at this hotel. The hotel has amazing ambiance. First there are a lot of stairs. If handicapped this hotel may not be for you. It is historic and that maybe why they don't appear to have things such as ramps. The rooms are extremely tight as well no access for wheelchairs. They do have an elevator that is to be operated by staff and there are stairs leading to the elevator. That said the restaurant Peacock Room has incredible service and food. We ate breakfast and dinner. The also have a bar that on Wednesday, Thursday nights has musicians that play and sing.
You do have to park across the street they do not have an onsite parking area. The site across the street is for Hassayampa Inn only. There is no problem finding parking you just have to cross the street. You are only a couple blocks from the "Whisky Row" area. The courthouse is the center of the square and all various kinds of shops, bars, food within walking distance of the hotel. There is even a Mead tasting room. It is in the basement in the square and mead is a wine type drink made from honey. So much to see and do when staying in Prescott. Don't miss the lakes. You will enjoy a trip to Prescott and staying at this hotel.

    Hello Lori,
Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. You are correct in the assumption regarding your point about handicap access. Since we were built in 1927, there are things we cannot change because of the historic significance and that includes improvements to make things more handicap friendly. We do our best by having an elevator that goes from the basement to the other floors, doors coming from the outside in, etc. I am pleased that you enjoyed the hotel as well as Prescott. You mentioned some of my favorite places!
