  • Conrad Would Not Approve

I'm a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hilton properties as much as possible. I've even stayed at this property, however, it's been 15 or 20 years ago. The lobby, restaurant and bar are very impressive. If you like a old school hotel, which I do, this is your place. My room left a lot to be desired. It was very dated and the wall covering was even torn in several places. I realize that older hotels have typically smaller rooms than the modern glitzy properties, but my room was particularly tired.
In the morning, I used the athletic facility which was very impressive--you have 24 hour access to the gym and there is a lot of equipment as well as free weights.
I then ate breakfast--as a Gold Honors Member, it's normally complementary and there is a breakfast offering on the 16th floor that was available. However, I was hungry and decided to eat at the main floor buffet, which I was told was 50% off due to my status. When I got the bill, I was stunned--$25.00 for a half off breakfast in Cincinnati, come on. I've paid less than that in Manhattan with a view of the Freedom Tower.

  • A Cincinnati Gem!

We had a marvelous experience over St. Patrick's weekend. This hotel is located in the perfect location to take in all of the festivities Cincinnati has to offer. It is also close to many restaurants, the convention center, downtown Fountain Square, and within short walking distance to the stadiums. A little further walking distance find you in northern KY and even more entertainment. The hotel is also an art deco GEM!

  • Not Netherland!

Beautiful hotel with great service. Rooms were old and dated, everything was crazy expensive (room service breakfast, 1 pot of coffee and 1 breakfast plate $24, after taxes, delivery and service fees?!? it was $35 and then you were expected to tip!) bathrooms were really small. It is conveniently located in downtown Cincy but not worth it.

  • Beautiful hotel, but past due for an update

I stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The front desk staff provided great service. However, I learned the day after the wedding, I was supposed to receive a welcome gift bag (that I didn't get) from the bride and groom. My room was nice and clean. The room needed an update like last decade. The issue I had was with valet and bellhop service. When I arrived at the hotel, the valet was insistent upon a bellhop bringing my luggage up. I wanted to take them myself, but I finally accepted the offer. I was in the room about 45 minutes and hadn't received my items. I called the front desk, asked about them, and they said they would call to get them sent up. I waited about another 30-45 minutes, called and asked if I can retrieve my bags on my own. I was advised to go to the bell station. I go down to the bell station, and they advised they couldn't find my luggage. In my mind, I'm thinking, when was someone going to let me know?! At this point I've waited over an hour for my bags and someone could've at least called my room to tell me they couldn't "find" my belongings. The bellhop advised I can go down to valet to inquire. So here I am doing all this running around and I have a wedding to get to and get ready for. Anyway, I go down to the valet and show my ticket. I tell valet that I was advised my bags couldn't be found. She points to the wall and asked "is that it?". Sure enough my bags were sitting against the wall, in the parking garage for the taking. The wedding gift (exposed) was sitting on top of my luggage. Thank goodness nobody took them. My bags were sitting there all that time and nobody could "find them.". Needless to say that was very disappointing. I only had one piece of luggage and a wedding gift. That should have been easy enough to transport up, no? Again, the desk guest service was great (minus not receiving my welcome bag). Other than that, I was disappointed that my bags were handled in such a manner. When staying here, be careful with your bags. That's the advice I can offer.

  • Beautiful building, paper thin walls

by ohioerin on 2019-03-17 04:37 pm

This is a beautiful, historic building. The beds are comfy and we loved the view of the river. But until about 3 am I could hear a couple as if they were in our room. Every single word of their conversation and their adult activities. For a room that cost over 250 with parking that's just not acceptable. I don't think I can stay here again.
