  • shortened vacation

Chose the Hilton Hawaiian Village over Marriott which is whom I usually goto for my hotels stays. The resort itself is nice. right on the beach. Lots of dining and shopping choices. I stayed in the diamond head tower and the room was clean but not impressed. They have five towers so room experience may vary but overall not a bad place to stay in Oahu.

  • Anniversary

My husband and I celebrate our anniversary every year at the Hilton Waikiki Village. We love it. I have not been disappointed yet. It has everything you need. I love the beautiful ocean views from our room.

  • Great family place

First time staying here. It is a huge resort. We stayed in the Tapa tower. The hotel needs to be updated looks old fashion. The outside of the premises is amazing I felt like I was at a theme park with all the boutiques and the way the streets are. There is an adult pool in the Kalia tower, you will also find the Day spa and Gym there. I didn't get a chance to go round the whole place but you won't be disappointed.

  • Family of Six on a 10-night vacation

    by HamFamilyof6 on 2019-08-23 11:09 am

We just came home from a 10 night stay, where we had two rooms in the Tapa Tower. I had read a lot of mixed reviews, but it was all positive for us (Mom, Dad, and 4 kids - 19,17,14, and 10. Here is my experience and thoughts. We booked a room using all points so there was no resort fee, and booked the other room through Costco. When we arrived around 2:00, the Hilton Honors Gold line was short and the lady at the front desk took her time to make sure we got rooms side by side, which was great. We ended up in the Tapa Tower, which I really liked. The rooms were basic, with beds and a mini fridge, but the elevators were quick and the Tapa pool along with the village were right there. The Tapa pool was the least crowded and had the warmest water....I think your experience at this resort is based on your expectations.

Great - The grounds are beautiful. I walked around every day just looking at the scenery and browsing through the different stores. The beach and lagoon are spectacular. Lappert's was the best place for pastries, ice cream, and coffee. The ABC stores also have a lot of items. The service I received from the front desk and through text messages from the staff were exceptional. They even provided a room for us to shower after we checked out and before our evening flight.

What to expect - Everything is expensive in Hawaii, everything. We spent a ton on food, but that was planned. We walked to Ala Moana mall, Target, McDonald's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Subway, which are close by. The main strip in Waikiki is basically a walk through a large park, which we did several times. ....The pools are crowded, so you may not get a chair, but there is room to swim and always room on the beach and lagoon....There are a lot of people. It is the largest hotel in the USA outside of Vegas, but still very relaxing. There is a mix of people from the USA, Asia, along with Australia and New Zealand. Everyone I encountered was very nice. It was really interesting asking people where they were from, and knowing everyone came there to have a good time.

Tips - If you want to rent a car for a few days, National is on site, but they usually sell out a day or two ahead so don't expect to walk right in and get one. Also, if you are looking for a place that is quiet with no one around, look elsewhere. However, if you want a beautiful place that has pools, shops, places to eat, and something always going on, this is it. It was still very relaxing because the complex is so large.

I am very happy we chose this for our Hawaiian vacation. If you have teens or young children, they should love it.

  • Massive Village right on Wakiki

    by Breezy T on 2019-08-22 04:23 pm

My 2 teenagers and I just returned from our first Hawaii vacation celebrating my daughter's sweet 16. Our room was located in the Kalia Tower. The grounds of this hotel are amazing and the customer service is great. My complaints are due to the high resort fees for minimal amenities, half cleaned rooms (housekeeping did the bare minimum) the expensive food at the restaurants, the bad wifi and the uncomfortable beds. The resort fee with tax is almost 52 dollars per night. The wifi alone barely works and it is supposed to be a part of the resort fee. I used more of my phone data then I did with the bad wifi. The beds were not comfortable at all they were sunken in as well. My daughter has never had back issues but has been dealing with back pain because of the beds. Lastly, the hotel didn't offer anything special to celebrate my daughter's sweet 16, which I assumed would have happened. Whenever we go on vacation and we celebrate some type of milestone (birthdays, graduations, etc) we always receive something special.
