Hotel Augustin

Originally constructed in 1909, Hotel Augustin actually resides on the site of an earlier tavern from the 17th century called the Altona Cellar. This marvelous historic building has housed a number of different institutions over the years, including the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Det Dramastiske Selskab. The structure only recently became a hotel in the 1990s, when the Smørås family acquired the location. Hotel Augustin has since become one of Bergen’s most luxurious holiday destinations. It is surrounded by many fantastic cultural attractions, such as the Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf, Fløyfjell, the Det Hanseatiske Museum, and the Bergenhus Fortress.
