  • OK Stay, Room Needs to be Renovated, Terrible Internet

    We stayed in Tower II, parts of the main lobby and hallway outside of our room looked newly renovated. The small bathroom consisted of the toilet and shower, the sink was located outside of the main bathroom, in its own alcove with a wrap around mirror located on 2 walls, a very nice touch. This alcove also had a narrow counter to place your toiletries on. This small bathroom did not have a fan to manage moisture and odors. The shower head was a rain shower that was slow to rinse out long hair. The toilet flushed like an airplane's toilet, forceful and noisy. The toilet seat was loose. The bedroom had nice heavy furniture, something that you usually don't see in hotels these days. The 2 queen beds were low, not the higher beds that are the newer style. The beds were also very soft. They had 1 hard pillow and 1 medium pillow, a nice mix. The desk had a cushy chair and the room also had a comfy chair with wooden arms. We always like to see a room with 2 chairs so that you don't sit on the beds when you're catching up with e-mail or while watching tv. There were only 2 plugs for charging devices located on 1 lamp, but there were wall plugs that we needed to look for charging.

    The hallway outside of our room had that new carpet small and appeared to be new. The room d?cor was neutral.

    The hotel had several restaurants and high end art shops. They were in the process of renovating parts of the lobby.

    The internet was absolutely terrible, even at 6am when few people were up and atom. Upon check-out, the person at the desk acknowledged the slow internet speed and indicated that they were working on it.

    This centrally located hotel is located near the mall and many nice restaurants.
    Although this hotel was nice, centrally located downtown, the rooms are in need of a renovation. For what we paid for this room, we expected a little more. If we ever have plans to go to Anchorage again, we would probably look into staying at another hotel.

  • Wonderful Place to Stay

    We stayed at the Captain Cook twice last week while we were in Anchorage. We stayed two nights at the beginning of the trip and two nights at the end of the trip. On this particular trip, I am particularly grateful to the concierge, Luisa, for her help in procuring distilled water for a medical device and honey for my tea. It was in our room when we arrived. We had breakfast there four times. The food and the service were great. Both rooms were very comfortable and the views were great. We have reservations for June and I know it will be another great experience.

  • Great hotel, good location

    We were very pleased with the accommodations. Luckily got upgraded to emcecuricw floor. Great service there. Adequate shops and restaurants. Easy to walk to other places. Staff was friendly and helpful

  • Location in the middle of Anchorage

    With lovely staff and a great hotel room you really cant go wrong.
    We walked out the door and down a few blocks to the visitors centre
    Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, hot and quick to arrive.
    A truly nice find

  • Big room, good location

    I used a travel agent to book this hotel and told them I needed a walk-in or roll in shower. This was not communicated to the hotel and instead an accessible room was asked for. This could be attributed to a misunderstanding of terminology. The room was large, with a large bathroom. Problem was the shower was in the bath which made it unusable for me. Spoke to reception who advised that I could have a room with a roll in shower the following night. So if you need are unable to climb over a bath ask for a roll in shower.
    Staff were very helpful and apart from the bathroom the room suited my needs. Some access doors to the hotel have a disability button to open the access doors to the hotel.
    The concierge were extremely helpful with suggestions for interesting areas to visit.The hotel is close to a number of restaurants of good quality.
    All in all a very comfortable stay at this hotel.
