  • Housekeeping Needed

    Rooms needed attention to detail. Bathroom floors not cleaned under vanity and along tile edge. Carpet not vac under bed or along baseboards. Comfy bed, nice furnishings. Beautiful old hotel. Restaurant lights were dirty and wait staff was slow.

  • Disappointing

    I've stayed at this hotel in the past and loved it then, which is why I booked my stay there this trip. Unfortunately, check-in was a complete disaster, the hotel is completely weathered, the rooms were dirty, housekeeping didn't empty the trashcans and didn't even clean the rooms. Sadly, this hotel is not what it used to be.

  • Poor Accommodation

    Room was very Dirty, Light on the wall hanging did not work, bathroom sink Leaked.
    Needed a wheelchair for my 82 yr old mother. NO WHEELCHAIR !!! to help her get to the room. Ended up using a luggage cart while bellmen and front desk employees watched my struggle, myself in a walking boot from a fractured Fibula.

  • Great hotel. Sub par arrival and reservation experience.

    The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also thought the location was terrific. Our check-in and reservation experience left much to be desired as the system made an error that we were unaware of until we arrived and the staff treatment to deal with their own system's mistake was not pleasant.

  • Weekend concert trip w/friends

    Hotel Phillips is part of the Hilto Curio Collection. It is an older hotel that reminds you immediately of the 1920's and 1930's with its art-deco lobby and throwback elevators. The valets, front desk, restaurant and speak-easy staff (yes, you read that correctly) were all very helpful and friendly. The room we had was a deluxe king so we had a sittng area with sofa. This made the room feel more than adequate from a space perspective. The bathroom was fine, but narrow. Recently redone with new fixtures and subway tile shower with modern glass doors yet still held to the hotels art deco roots. The house restaurant had a nice breakfast and brunch. The PS Speakeasy was excellent. Tasha was a sweetheart and Larry runs a tight ship and makes great cocktails behind the bar. Don;t get upset though if you can't get down there. It only seats about 60 folks and that ribbed some patrons the wrong way....little helpful tip...you can reserve a table in advance and avoid the wait. You can always wait in the restaurant bar as an option. The location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk to Sprint Center, KC Convention Center, countless restaurants and any and all downtown sites. It's a great spot for couples, business trips, trips with friends or a night out.
