    Very nice hotel centrally located in downtown KC. Food and drinks a bit pricey. Staff very friendly. Valet parking nice but again pricey. Close to many restaurants and attractions. Would stay there again!

  • Staff great Housekeeping not so great

    I did not review this hotel before we stayed there since we were already locked in since we were there for a wedding. But I thought it was ironic that everything I thought bad about the hotel was exactly what all other reviews were about when I did read them. The hotel is just not clean. My room was great but had so much dust on the furniture that I had to dust before I sat down in the desk chair. The first morning there a maid stopped by to see if we wanted our room cleaned. I had not put the tag out saying I agreed to not have our room cleaned so I really wondered why she even asked. The room was not cleaned when we left at 6:15 for dinner. I stopped by the front desk and requested the room to be cleaned. One bed was made the other not. Garbage not emptied....need I go on? The same issues that other guests have reviewed. We never ate there so can not go into the food or service. The staff was great. Thank you Arron for meeting us and helping us unload and for driving us to dinner. Thank you Daniel for getting ALL our luggage to our room and for being so friendly. Josh was great to drive us around (that is really a great service the hotel offers) and giving us tips for things going on in the area! Ryan did a great job checking us in and giving us directions where to find everything. Carlo's had a great attitude when we checked in and was very friendly the rest of time we were there. And thank you Lisa for jogging my memory on names!
    Nice hotel and in a good location but they really need to step up their housekeeping.

    Historical standard has apparently been maintained over many decades. Great lobby, very adequate rooms with good views over the city (not to the sea), good breakfast with Greg Marino being a great host in the morning hours.

  • Unique property downtown

    I really enjoyed my quick stay here at Hotel Phillips. I loved the design of the hotel and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. My room on the top floor had a beautiful view of the city. The valet staff was very courteous when i checked in and carried my bag to the desk for me. The gentleman who checked me in was very hospitable and let me know about what was going on in the bar later that night. I would have enjoyed going there for a drink but I was out when the tornados came through and it messed up my schedule.

    Breakfast was DELICIOUS and they even fixed it up to go for me since I had an early meeting. If you love 1920s vibes with a great staff stay here! I can't wait to come back next time I am in town.

  • Good, but watch the charges!

    Without a 48 hour cancellation, you will get stuck! There is a one night charge for an early check out without 48 hours notice. Surely, Hilton is not that hard up for money. But, my credit card bill says Hilton will grab every dollar possible.
