This Mid-century modern hotel was originally a mansion built by the famed Austrian-Mexican architect Alejandro Zohn in 1952. Zohn also designed the iconic Mercado San Juan de Dios in Guadalajara, which is the largest indoor market in Latin America. He also constructed a number of easily recognizable homes throughout Tlaquepaque with his unique architectural blend of organic simplicity. Zohn’s work is honored throughout Mexico today. Numerous cultural institutions continue to celebrate his designs in the form of museum exhibitions, as well as student scholarships. Since opening in 2014, Hotel San Pietro has been a popular destination for cultural and heritage travelers who visit central Mexico. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Tlaquepaque, where it is 25 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the local bus depot. Its proximity to the historical event facility, La Casa Histórica de Tlaquepaque, makes it an ideal lodging option for event attendees. Hotel San Pietro is located near additional cultural attractions, including Museo Regional de la Ceramica, Catedral Metropolitana, and the UNESCO-recognized Instituto Cultural de Cabañas.
