  • Nice renovation

Fantastic high rise in small Texan Town. Great surprise. Large lobby. Dark wood. Outdoor pool. Restaurant. Bar. Rooms equipped with fuzzy white towels, aveda, comfy beds, thick walls and ambient views of Texas town.

  • What a great surprise!

Stopping in Big Spring for the night what a great surprise Hotel Settle was. Beautifully decorated hotel with first class service. Food was excellent and furnishings were first rate. We stayed in a room next door to where Elvis stayed. Would definitely go out of our way to stay here. Why stay at a boring chain hotel when this inexpensive gem is waiting for you!

  • A gold ring in a pigs snout

We booked this hotel to celebrate my birthday. The restoration is immaculate. The hotel facilities are 5 star quality...VERY well done! I booked a suite, told it was $600, weekend priced at $300. I expected a suite. It was a large room with a very nice bathroom, and a GIANT terrace attached. We opened the door to the room....was not what I call a suite...was a large room with bed on one side, couch on the other. "Nevermind" I told myself, it is nice, you will enjoy it. Then my wife noticed that the double doors to the terrace had not curtain, nor cover of any sort. With a southern exposure, this would not work for my "sleep in" plans! When I went down to ask what options we had, I was told "best I can do is move you to a room with a jetted tub. As that does nothing for me, I asked, "may I see it please?" Imagine my surprise, when I was told "the manager would never let me do that". I can not look at a room before I rent it? So long story short, I rented a regular king for $249. When we arrived, I was very surprised to learn, It was the same configuration of room that I was told was a suite!!
I am doing my best to stay positive, so we ordered room service. They were busy, I got a voicemail! I had to go to the restaurant to order....There are lots more details that I could write that supports: The property is exquisite....the staff, while nice folks, are not in the hospitality business!
NOTE TO OWNERSHIP...You have done a beautiful job in the restoration, you should invest in training your staff!

  • Beautiful hotel, horrible service

    by Sharmon R on 2018-08-20 02:03 am

I reserved two rooms for myself & friends this weekend. I was told the room rates at the time of reservation. Upon checkout, one of the rates was $30 higher per night. I was told a manager would contact me to correct, but I have not been contacted.

We were also double billed by the wait staff. We paid tabs via credit card, and the amounts were also charged to one of our rooms. Upon check out, we were told we owed the amounts already paid.

  • A Gem of a Restoration...a bargain for a wonderful stay

by KerrvilleKirk on 2018-08-16 02:39 pm

If you are on your way to somewhere and Big Spring is at a stopping point, don't miss this beautifully and accurately restored hotel. The rooms are spacious and the pool and hot tub area (with waterfall) is grand. Drinks at the Pharmacy bar were well prepared, and the bar is a hopping place with locals and passers-through. Dinner at the grill was very good (crab stuffed trout). Spend some time walking the lobby and mezzanine...the areas are push and period precise, and the photos and prints provide a great history of the hotel and area.
