  • Cool, historical,.... but nicely updated!

    by karenks2015 on 2019-10-15 07:28 pm

The benefit of a historical hotel is there LOCATION... Valley Ho is just walking blocks from Old Town Scottsdale.... not that far driving from Sky Harbor Airport.... and
features a couple nice pool areas, good food on site (or room service), as well as
numerous restaurants within 5-8 blocks.... I loved my stay here!!

  • Amazing couples weekend

by singletrackjunkie on 2019-10-15 05:45 pm

This is my 2nd trip to the Valley Ho. We stayed with another couple for a long weekend and didn't feel like we even needed to leave the hotel. Here's the bottom line:
ZUZU: You can't go wrong, they have amazing food and drinks for all meals, healthy choices and savory choices, less expensive and higher end. Everyone can find something. The drinks are top notch, they have barrel aged bourbon onsite infused with chamomile and honey for a night cap which was amazing. Happy hour is good too, the elote salad is amazing!
SERVICE: From checkin to checkout 3 nights/4 days I never received sub par service anywhere, pool staff included which is hard to find. A special shout out to Birdie, Nikki, and PJ at the bar that were especially knowledgeable with the menu and drinks. There level of service is well above standard.
ROOMS: Clean, large, uniquely appointed and just fun. The only negative thing I can say is that I like a thinner pillow but I probably could have asked for one and gotten it.
GYM: clean, has everything that you need and more, I took a yoga class which was good as well.

It's rare to find a hotel that has a good enough restaurant, enough variety on the grounds, and personalized service to keep you onsite for the entire stay but this is one that does it.

Nice work Valley Ho! We will be back!

  • Great hotel!

by Pblandy on 2019-10-14 09:08 am

    Great location and great hotel!

Staff were friendly upon check in and throughout the hotel.
Decor in the rooms reminds me of mad men, room was clean and had a little outside area to sit or lounge .

Pool area is really nice , staff very attentive around the pool bringing water and asking if you needed anything .

Gym is small but every time I was in there no more than 3 other people in there , has everything you need to get a vacation workout in .

  • A Good Weekend/Challenges Overcome

    by Joeg0902 on 2019-10-14 08:33 am

Booked the hotel to spend time with our daughter who goes to college in the area. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly stall at the valet and bell desk. Check in process was very easy and we were escorted to our room by our bellman Evan. The room has and a contemporary feel, more mid-century modern. The room was in really good condition and the design made great use of the space.
We were looking forward to spending time on our outdoor deck on Saturday, however this wasn't possible due to the main pool being closed and the hotel setting up a portable bar directly outside of our room. This was extremely disappointing.
I went to the front desk and met with Alex. I showed him a picture of what were dealing with and he was very apologetic and offer to change our room. We declined as we were only going to be there one more night. He did make concessions on our bill for the inconvenience.
The next day we were able to enjoy the deck area and the pool as everything was cleared away from the previous day's events.
I want to mention Evan again, our bellman as he was very friendly both times he assisted. Also Alex for taking the time to listen and make things right. Really good customer service. Luis was a pleasure to deal with upon check out.
ZuZu the onsite restaurant/lounge is nice and moderately priced.
The hotel is close to Old Town Scottsdale which has several restaurants you actually walk to.
We would consider staying here again in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to share the feedback of your stay with us. We love to recognize the team with positive comments and will make sure the Landscaping team, ZuZu breakfast staff, Houseman, Evan, Alex
and Luis get the recognition they deserve. We do a lot to promote a culture of genuine hospitality so it is wonderful to hear that it was enjoyed by another hospitality professional. Please accept my apologies that your patio and pool view was blocked on Saturday afternoon by the portable banquet bar. The location was dictated by some power and IT challenges and we would normally never have a bar situated like that but due to the charity event at the main pool it threw us some operational challenges. My apologies again that your otherwise enjoyable arrival experience was soured by that set-up.

Please reach out to me direct the next time your travels bring you down to see your daughter and it would be my pleasure to extend an industry rate and get you and your wife situated in a room with an attractive view.

  • Iconic Oasis

    by Tara H on 2019-10-06 07:06 am

I love this midcentury modern hotel conveniently located steps away from historic Old Town in Scottsdale. Service was friendly and helpful. The grounds are lush with ample amenities. It's also dog friendly. Bonus! The decor has a touch of whimsy to it. Love it!
