  • Beautiful historic hotel

    by LStravels365 on 2018-08-18 04:45 am

The buildings and grounds are beautifully restored. However the stress of maintaining these old buildings showed and there really was no excuse for the shoddy housekeeping. My room was filthy on arrival with thick coatings of grimy dust on door panels and in the armoire and on many surfaces. The air conditioner intake was so clogged with dust, I don't know how it drew any air. And condensation was leaking from the air conditioner access panel in the bathroom through the surrounding plaster ceiling and dripping on the floor with obvious mold around the leakage. To their credit. Housekeeping and maintenance dealt with the issues at hand.
Having had my arrival delayed due to weather, I left a message as directed on the room service line ordering breakfast in the morning at 7:30 am before I was scheduled to present. I never received it and was further told that no one had checked the recorded line.( this was at 8:30). I did get a message later on my phone apologizing and reassuring me "I would not be charged". Surprisingly, management made no attempt at any type of compensatory action for all these issues.
On the positive side, the bell staff are outstanding, consistently friendly and gracious offering greetings and assistance with directions, transportation around the sprawling resort and suggestions.

  • Passing Through For Long Enough

    by James B on 2018-08-13 010:16 pm

We have been passing through on I-95 for several years saying that we should stop in and check out Jekyll Island Club Resort. We finally did it this summer (August) on our way to Florida to visit family. We had an outstanding stay. The grounds are immaculate, the staff was friendly courteous and the rooms are old world charming. We are history enthusiasts so it's interesting to walk around the property and read about the property. This is bucket list place to stay and will be fun for the whole family. Be sure to check out the driftwood beach and eat in the historic dining room.

We are glad to hear you fulfilled one of the items on your bucket list. Thanks for staying with us recently. Sounds like you had a great time. We are very close to I-95 so it is very convenient for an overnight visit. Maybe you can stop again on your way north.

  • Wonderful Southern hospitality.

    by Pam L on 2018-08-13 12:31 am

We are repeat visitors to Jekyll Island Club. The renovations and improvements over the last two years make it even more enjoyable. The staff is polite and helpful. The various restaurants have good food that make it hard to choose where to eat. We will be going back again next year.

    Owner Response
We are always happy to hear our guests will be returning, which of course is one of our top goals. Glad to hear our resort team took good care of you during your stay. And, it is nice to know you enjoyed the renovations and improvements we have made around the resort. See you again soon.

  • Beautiful Historic Hotel

by BJGSU on 2018-08-13 11:44 am

I stayed in Sans Souci which is separate from the main hotel but a wonderful building. I really enjoyed having a porch with rocking chairs. I sat out there and enjoyed my coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. I loved walking the grounds and taking in all the history. Enjoyed live music at The Wharf one night as well.

The resort is set up like a campus. As you mentioned staying in Sans Souci which is one of our 6 buildings here in the historic district. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy your balcony overlooking the river. We also appreciate you dining with us at The Wharf-a very short walk to the pier. History abounds here and it is nice to know our guests appreciate this Victorian treasure.

  • Beautiful setting. The views of the Intercoastal, marshes, gardens and architecture are unique.

We loved the property and area. Great historical tours offered by the state park personnel were excellent (Indian Mound Cottage and Faith Chapel). The Georgia Sea Turtle Center was fun and informative. The Sister property Jekyll Ocean Club is only one year old, contemporary, and very clean. All rooms have ocean front balconies.
Breakfasts at their Restaurant and the Pantry at the club were delicious!
The wharf restaurant is delicious for lunch!
Our room at the Crane Cottage, a deluxe king (comfortable) with balcony, was quiet, spacious, well furnished, and air conditioned. The bathroom worked but needs upgrading ... you must be prepared for pitted fixtures, stained shower floor, and very old tired floor tile. The staff is pleasantly responsive to requests. The main lodge is lovely with the grand restaurant and comfortable seating on the multiple porches. Bike ride is a must! Pool is old but well cared for. Overall we loved our stay and look forward to returning.

We appreciate all of the feedback and we are happy to know you enjoyed your visit. It sounds like you were able to do a lot while you were here and we want to thank you for dining in a number of our restaurants. Stay tuned for more information on the renovations of the bathrooms. We hope to see you again in the near future.
