  • Great Location, Friendly Staff, Excellent Art & History Curator, Average Accomodation

    by bgood746 on 2019-04-18 07:46 am

Great location close to The Plaza with Valet parking. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The most interesting and memorable part of our stay at La Posada was the talk given by the Art and History curator Sara Eyestone. She made the art and history come alive with her experiences and storytelling while we were treated to appetizers and wine by the hotel. This was definitely the highlight of our stay at the hotel. It set us up for what to see and do for the weekend. The rooms were average; we did not use any of the amenities or spa.

    Owner Response
    Dear bgood746,
    Thank you for providing feedback.
Sara is great and adds a very nice touch to our hotel. Her knowledge and passion are second to none. I am so glad you had a chance to enjoy the appetizers and wine.
I hope next time you can enjoy the additional amenities and our spa. They are wonderful.

    Thank you again,
    Derrick

  • Disappointing

by Clnji on 2019-04-13 07:27 am

We arrived before check in and our room was not ready. OK my fault. At check in time the room was still not ready. They said they would call me. 40 minutes later the room was ready but they did not call. One day we returned to our room to take a nap and housekeeping showed up. Then they took a 2 hour siesta. Abandoned housekeeping carts all over the property. When our room finally was cleaned we had no fresh hand towels or face cloths. Overall a disappointing experience. $15 resort fee for ???? You think a continental breakfast would be provided.

    Owner Response
    Dear Clnji,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
We definitely should have done better on housekeeping and we will discuss this with our team and ensure we improve.

Thank you again for your time and we hope you will give us another opportunity in the future.

    Sincerely,
    Derrick

  • Great location and nice hotel

    by Gina L on 2019-04-10 02:15 pm

Nice hotel in a great location close to the main square. Rooms are nice. Customer service was lacking and could use improvement. Not the Marriott standard that we are use to. Valet service is good and they were quite helpful in making recommendations that were really good. It would be a great hotel if the service improves.

Let me just start off with this property is a dump , inside is very old and run down , nothing about this resort is high end or luxury .... but that actually is not my problem with this place. It's the front desk.

For starters , at check in there was no recognition for being plat, just given vouchers for $7 off breakfast ( insert eye roll) , then no one offered to carry our bags to the non upgraded room. The hotel seemed busy for a wedding and it was late on a Friday , so I was ok with no upgrade.

After 2 nights stay at the dumpy resort , it emptied out and I went to ask the front desk if maybe we could do an upgrade for the second half of the stay. The lady at the front just looked me straight in the eye and said , no sorry, we are sold out. I showed her online that EVERY room type was still available to book for the remaining 2 days to which she passed me off to the woman next to her who had an array of suites and fireplace rooms but basically went out of her way to convince me that we shouldn't move because we'd have to have our stuff packed and ready and that our room "already has a nice terrace ". I even stated that we would consider paying for an upgrade if they had something I would maybe consider worth it but she said those rooms listed online weren't correct ( eye roll again).

Now it's day 4 and the resort is EMPTY. It's a Tuesday in low season. At 9am I'm the only person at breakfast and the parking lot is empty and I go to ask for a late check out, and again , the liar at the front desk said she was at high occupancy. I reminded her that 4pm check out should be part of the plat benefits ( I was only asking for 3pm) and she said that it does not apply to this property.

I don't know if this woman was trained this way or if she's just born that way. By the way , I did not ask to speak to manager but her haircut makes it seems like she does ask for the manager often.

I gave a second star because the wait staff at the restaurant were lovely and the food was decent. Come here to eat , not to stay.

  • Location, Location, and thats is it!

    by Work-Chicago on 2019-04-08 08:12 am

As a Lifetime Marriott Premier member I expected to be treated better at this hotel. Was assigned a room that main window for sunlight did not (blinds) roll-up and one of two windows would not open. No maid service 2nd day,did receive service 3rd day only after i complained. Hotel manager responded with contradictory reasons than his front desk and made a comment that i came in on a special booking plan. My plan was Marriott members could get 15% off rates if paid cash in advance. Be aware, i guess this means since you have paid then you can be put in a crappy room. At departure i sent e-mail to Hotel manager for clarification on issues, no response! Too bad Marriott doesn't let travelers post feedback on website, if they did you would see more "real" feedback on the hotels. On a positive note the locations is good and the valet attendants are best employees.

    Owner Response
    Dear Work-Chicago,
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your time.
I am sorry for the issue that occurred and want you to know that we will address them.
I am glad that you had a good experience with our valet team. They are great and the location is very cool.

    Thank you for time,
    Derrick
