  • LOVELY!!

    by lcl418 on 2019-01-13 03:08 am

My husband and I stayed on a Friday night for a getaway weekend. LOVED the hotel. Stayed in room 500. Great king bed, great bathroom. Faced town, but it was quiet. Free garage parking. Room had exposed brick wall and very comfortable bed. VERY clean.Nice bathroom amenities. Turndown service with rose and chocolates. Nice touch! The staff was wonderful!!! Would definitely return!

  • Excellent, but with a footnote

I've always liked this place so it was natural that we would book an accommodation here for a weekend wedding in Lancaster. The wedding was scheduled for 4 pm several blocks away, but parking there was scarce and it was raining, so when we checked in at 3:10 we asked about a possible van or shuttle (not available) and then a cab. The front desk people (there were two on duty) said they would call one for us and that usually it takes about 20 minutes from reservation to pick-up. We asked to be picked up at 3:50. When we got to the desk at 3:50, they had just called the cab and were told it would take 30 minutes. We remembered tat we had Uber, so we called them, and within 2-3 minutes were on our way to the wedding. We arrived just in time. This failing is, as I suggest in the title, a "footnote." But missing the wedding would have been what my mother, sardonically would have dubbed, "a mere detail." What we had asked for and thought we had arranged for was pretty simple. Messing such a request up is not the kind of error a hotel with the aspirations of this one should make. But it is a footnote. The hotel itself is terrific: comfortable, smart, tasteful, quiet, spacious...the beds are great, the linens pristine., the breakfasts, adequate bordering on Spartan, but good after a night of wedding eating excesses. Some attention to staff training (the place was not apparently very busy) might be in order, but the elements of excellence are all otherwise here. It's a great building and a near great hotel.

  • Weekend Getaway

by jeremycaraa on 2019-01-04 05:40 am

First and Foremost - AMAZING stay. Staff was great. They treated us right!
My wife and I booked a Loft Suite for one night for our anniversary. The day of our reservation I got a call where the staff indicated that there was a glitch in the reservation system and the room I booked was not available. I was told they would give me a King room for a reduced price and then provide me a complementary voucher for a future stay in the suite we had booked originally. This was okay but I was disappointed. I spoke to my wife and we did have the option to stay a second night and make a weekend out of it. I called LAH back and asked - would the suite be available the second night. I was told no BUT a different suite of slightly higher value, was available and they would be pleased to offer that suite to us for no charge. That is what we did. We stayed in one king room for the first night and the suite the second night. All of this for a reduced fee. In this case, management made right by my wife and I even in a bad situation. Very pleased with the outcome.
In addition, the room and suite were amazing and the atmosphere was great. The breakfast in the morning was perfect! We enjoyed our stay and will return, often.
Thank you. I highly recommend staying at LAH. Thank you to Hal and the entire staff for making our stay amazing!

  • Must stay in Lancaster

by KennethPman on 2018-12-15 09:48 am

Great hotel with a limited but good breakfast! The rooms look really nice and are very spacious with the high ceilings. There are some really good places nearby for food among which the restaurant in the hotel which I would strongly recommend or bar the fridge next door which is really nice for a beer!

  • Average to Very Good

by bskibones on 2018-12-11 07:20 pm

Depending on the location of the room, this place is very average to very good. Overall the hotel is good. Be careful on the location of the room. There are 2 rooms for each floor located directly next to the elevator. Also, be aware of rooms near and above the lobby and restaurant. The noise level will travel to the rooms. The breakfast provided is good. There appears to be a short staffing issue, but, the staff does a great job to keep the breakfast moving. They offer a pancake machine instead of the usual waffle machine, Fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal...

Concerning our stay. Our first night we were in room 410. No problem. The next morning, there was an overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke at our entry, apparently from a ceiling vent. This was reported to the front desk and we were assured this would be addressed. We went out for the day and the same odor was present in our room. I checked the adjoining rooms and hallway and I could not find the source. The front desk was advised of the problem. They were apparently not informed of our complaint from the morning. The first advice they had was to spray an air freshener spray. A short time fix rather than finding the source. Another room was provided at 210. Nice room, however, there was a constant drone of a noise from the roof top HVAC system. This did not make for a good night sleep.

In closing; good for free parking, okay for the breakfast, nice design for the hotel and rooms and artwork with the doodles from the guests. Negatives; be careful of the location of the room for the extra noise and possible cigarette smoke odor. The hotel will charge an extra fee if there is a smoker. When I left the parking garage, I noticed cleaning staff smoking, during a break, near an open door at a hallway. This might have been the source of the smoke. I did advise management.
