  • Needs some TLC

    Was not overly impressed with the Lord Baltimore hotel. The entire establishment could use a make over. Lobby furniture was showing its age as well as be uncomfortable. The room was spacious, but the ceramic coated cast iron tub need to be replaced as there were several chips in the ceramic.

    The Skybar was a appointment as the view was only that of air conditioners.

  • Beautiful Hotel with a Heart

    The Lord Baltimore Hotel has been kind enough to act as a sponsor of the Madonnari Arts Festival in Baltimore, (littleitalymadonnari.com), by housing visiting artists from around the world. Our artists always report that the hotel is a gem. The staff is warm and welcoming. The location is excellent for touring Baltimore. The rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. "A haven to rejuvenate". Thank you to the staff of the Lord Baltimore for helping us to bring art and music to our city!

  • Good choice for a quick stay or weekend visit

    My stay at LB was enjoyable and was glad to have chosen this hotel for my weekend visit to Baltimore.

    Pros:
    1. The front desk staff was always pleasant when me and/or my boyfriend had to speak to them and made sure to answer any questions we had.
    2. The lobby is beautiful and the efforts to maintain the upkeep shows. There is even a grand piano in the middle and we were able to catch some live music one night.
    3. The LB hotel has a lot of rich history attached to it and i enjoyed the little facts that they displayed in the elevator.
    4. Great walking distance to the inner harbor. It's a nice stroll and because you're in the downtown Baltimore area, it was nice to take a look around at the architecture that Baltimore has to offer in that area.
    3. There's a Walgreens and 7/11 within a 5-10 minute walking distance just in case you need anything.
    4. This is a personal preference thing, but I found the beds to be very comfortable. I slept like a baby. There is a soft mattress topper, so it just feels like you're kind of melting into the bed after a long day.

    Cons:
    1. Parking is a bit of a nuisance as they don't offer free parking, however it makes sense as you are in that city area and the hotel itself is squeezed in between 3-4 other hotels. There is valet parking for $40/day, with in-and-out privileges and then there is self-parking for several hours at a time for a certain rate or $25/overnight WITHOUT in-and-out privileges. So it really depends on the convenience that you prefer. We chose to self park because we were able to snag free self-parking vouchers as silver members of Hotels.com. The hotel provided us the overnight vouchers for the garage every day.
    1a. Also, just an observation that was made, the valet parking that LB offers, they use the same parking garage that they send the self-parking folks to. We saw some of the LB valet attendants bring a couple of cars into that garage when we were waiting for our own car to be brought to us on multiple occasions.
    2. The hotel room itself is a bit run down. There are paint chips on the room door, the bathroom door, and cabinets. The grout in the bathtub/shower and tiling needs to be redone. The carpet all around needs a good de-gutting and shampoo or something. It just needs an overall refresh and not just work done here and there in order to fix it for the time being.
    3. Breakfast is alright, however not worth it. It's served in their LB Bakery which is a little ways down from their lobby. It is better to get breakfast elsewhere in my opinion. My tummy was feeling a little funny after eating their salmon bagel platter. The bakery itself seemed alright and it was nicely stocked. Their iced/hot coffee is very good though - cheap (not your average Starbucks prices) and HUGE. Their small size for iced coffee was enough to share.

    All in all, my stay was good. We got a very good deal for the days we stayed, so we got what we paid for. I don't have any complaints and wouldn't deter people from LB if asked for recommendations. However, I think I would also like to explore other hotel options in the area as well.

  • Lord Baltimore Hotel

    Love this hotel. It is our preferred place to stay in Baltimore. Great staff, beautiful lobby, rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. Nice little bakery for coffee and breakfast. The Rooftop bar Is so nice.

  • Who expects to pay $39.60 for valet and get vehicle damage in addition.

    My boyfriend and I came to Baltimore to enjoy the Spirit of Baltimore with a bunch of friends. Though we stayed for just one night at LBH we were happy until.... we encountered parking issues. We felt the valet parking was a bit expensive at $39.60. But we agreed to use it because we didn't want to lug bags for 2-3 blocks just to save $14.60 with self parking. Hindsight, we should have self parked. Which just so happens to be in the same place as valet. Anyway, when we got ready to checkout we text 15 minutes in advance as valet had instructed when we checked in. And though we did as instructed, we didn't receive our car for an hour. We sat patiently as we watched people, who arrived after us,come and claim there vehicles and drive off. Finally we asked where our car was? And we were told that they were getting our car now. They finally pulled up and I noticed a ding/scrape on the rear right passenger door. And then another on the drivers side door. I pointed it out to the valet, Rufus, who retrieved the car and he responded, "I just drove it over" before going off to get another car. I reported it to the valet attendant and he sent over the Asst Mgr who took pictures and a report and advised we get an estimate and email it to him. I will be getting the estimate tomorrow. And hope this won't be a long and tedious process to resolve.
