  • Lovely hotel in an excellent location!

Hotel is a great location for exploring downtown Napa. Plenty of wine-bars and restaurants within walking distance. Every staff member that we met was friendly and helpful. They take their coffee service seriously; Keurig machine and an electric kettle for tea, creams in the room's fridge, 4 different sweeteners, real coffee mugs and paper cups if you want to take it to go. Light breakfast can be delivered to the room, or use a $20 credit at Sweetie Pies (next door). It's worth the effort to get up & go there. Delicious!

Quaint Inn in the heart of Napa, and near many good restaurants including Morimoto Napa. Bed was super comfy, turn down service was a nice surprise to come back to after dinner. Rooms are a bit on the small side for a king bed but manageable. Every room is expensive in Napa and this one was a little high for no view. Breakfast choice of pastry delivery or take your ticket next door for a bigger selection. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Easy parking.

  • Old and Tired

I booked 4 rooms for myself and family in November of this year. We were all there visiting Napa wineries. This hotel has nice things like robes, slippers, chocolates at night, comfy beds but that's about all that's good about it. I must say the people are extremely nice and professional, no problems there. My problems with this place are, no real lobby where guests can relax and get together, no bar available for a night cap and the carpet is disgusting in all the rooms (remember I had 4 to view). In all 4 rooms there were stains and rips in the carpet, it was gross. Thank God for the slippers. The bathroom tile was stained yellow and in all looked like an old hotel they tried to fix up with low ceilings. The furniture is dated also. The wallpaper looks like something out of the 70's and is not in good condition in the rooms or the halls. The sinks in the bathroom have chips out of the porcelain. The ice makers were torn up on the floors and we had to get the front desk to bring each time. Finally, the rooms are in back of the hotel on the river so you have to walk outside to get to the shops or to the front desk. I would not stay here again. There are too many great places in Napa for the price I paid which was around 400 a night for 4 rooms. Ridiculous!

  • Wonderful location, rooms and comfort

by LaurettaYoung on 2018-11-26 12:44 am

    Things I really liked:
    1. very plush towels and lovely soaps, shampoos and etc
    2. very comfortable bed with top notch linens
    3. GREAT service-- the concierge emailed me several times before our trip to hep us set up things-- we were there for my brother's wedding-- they brought up extra coffee/tea service on the day--- extra towels so the persons arriving who were at other hotels and could not check in before wedding were able to shower and etc.. very helpful-- on point and quick
    4. the housekeeping and turndown were great--- well done, perfect every time
    5. the VIEW-- get a balcony-- watching the moon come up over the hills, the beautiful sunrise.. the tidal movement of the river with the different birds, the gardens, the people and dog walking-- just perfect for an afternoon of sitting after a morning outing.
    6. nice amenities from the umbrellas-- yes it rained! to the thoughtful types of teas..

    what I didn't like
    1. the hotel was relatively unbooked... we were unlucky on the second night to be next to some totally loud and "rowdy" adults-- who were all guffawing until past midnight, playing music, going back and forth between rooms slamming doors-- this is not the hotel's fault at all but it did highlight that the sound proofing is not as ideal as it could be-- doors should shut without a sound. the rooms should have better soundproofing... yes those neighbors were unruly but it also does point out to bring earplugs etc

    2. I didn't like not knowing what was going on --- I found out on the last day that they post a daily schedule by the front desk which no one on check in told us about. Also no one oriented us to the property to say there was a work out facility or whether there as an afternoon wine reception. I am all for not wasting printed paper but it could be posted on a site? or on a TV channel or at least tell the guests-- this was a significant issue since we were returning from a trip to the SF zoo the night of the annual downtown Christmas parade-- several streets were blocked off and we might have adjusted our return to actually get to the parade had we known about it.

  • Quaint little gem

Historic, beautiful, and clean with 1st class service. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping were very thoughtful. Concierge service was top notch. Loved having so much in walking distance!!!
