  • An Unexpected Anniversary Surprise

    by mauriceh528 on 2019-12-31 05:45 am

We have been to Pinehurst for the 2005 and 2014 US Opens, but never stayed at the resort. This year my company held our end of year meetings at the Carolina Hotel on the resort and all I can say is Wow! The place was decked out for Christmas, and walking the halls of the lobby was like walking back in time. I could not send enough photos home, and the ones I did send could not adequately describe the experience. So, when our meetings ended I drove home, picked up the misses, and we spent our 22nd anniversary at the resort. The staff was exceptional, the restaurants superb, and the environment (hotel, resort, clubhouse, and village) takes your breathe away.

  • The Finest Golf and Resort Experience in the United States

    by B Z on 2019-12-23 02:29 pm

As someone who has traveled the world for both business and golf (sometimes both combined), there is no other resort I have stayed at the provides the history, service, quality and overall experience that Pinehurst offers its guests. From the ease of check-in, to the quality of the room and furnishings (Premium queen suite), to the effortless travel around the village in shuttles and on the Trolley, Pinehurst Resort is a world-class operation.

The queen-suite room was exceptional. Hospital clean, wonderful bathroom and spacious. Beds were superb.

We booked a meal in the Carolina Dining Room and were promptly and attentively seated. The service was beyond exceptional, and I recommend requesting either Abner or Abner Jr as you will get the best of 2 generations of knowledge and service. World class food and service. I suggest the Surf and Truf or Steak Diana, sit back and enjoy.

The off site locations including the Magnolia, the Pinehurst Brewing Company, and the Golf Resort are easily visited via shuttle service.

All in all there is no comparison between the overall quality of Pinehurst and the best that Omni, Mariott, Wyndham, Four Seasons, or any other full package resort offers anywhere in the world. There is something special about the personal touch that Pinehurst offers. They want to make things right, not just take your money.

  • Christmas with brothers

    by deborahy859 on 2019-12-20 08:32 am

Was beautiful. Room was very nice but hard to adjust room temp. Grounds beautiful. Restaurant was disappointing. This was our second year and we would not go back to eat. The charges for the food did not support what was served. A 12 ounce ribeye looked like a small serving of sandwich meat. Potatoes did not taste like real potatoes.

  • Just ok. Not what I expected.

    by DanaM2158 on 2019-12-09 12:28 am

I guess I was just expecting this to be more luxurious. When I booked the room i asked the woman on the phone to break down the price of room spa and breakfast for me and she just kept repeating "the package is cheaper" I had to ask four times before she would give me the breakdown of what I was paying for. When we pulled up to valet several valets were standing their but nobody opened my car door or the hotel door. The lobby is very dated looking and not very pretty even at Christmas. The two women at check in were very sweet but spent the process making fun of each other for their work ethic instead of explaining where to go for breakfast or the spa so I had to ask lots of questions. We stayed at the manor house. The room was comfortable but small and we could hear all the hallway noise and the vanity was not roomy. The bed was very nice though. The breakfast was boring. After everyone raving I thought there would be shrimp cocktail, oysters, chicken and waffles, desserts etc but it was just typical eggs sausage and bacon with an omelet bar, a few bad tasting waffle toppings, sliced fruit and basic pastries. I asked for a mimosa and the waitress laughed and said "not on Sunday" I'm sure many guests dont know NC doesnt allow alcohol to be served before noon on Sundays. She could have explained instead of laughing at my request. The spa was also just ok. My massage was too cold. She took off the heated blanket and didnt turn on the heated bed despite it being below 30 outside. My boyfriends therapist did those things though. Its only a 50 min massage but she spent a lot of it organizing the counter and cleaning it between parts of the massage so it was probably really 40-45 min at the most. Pool and saunas are very nice. Changing room attendant is very kind. And the woman at the guest services counter was polite and helpful. All in all a disappointing use of $400

  • Mostly Good

    by 614foodiegirl on 2019-11-29 12:14 am

We spent Thanksgiving at the hotel and there was much to be pleased with. The rooms were fine, the dining room breakfast was excellent, the shuttle amazing, and the spa was nice. The one downside was housekeeping. The lady cleaned my room after my first night, but she didn't replace the coffee cups, the coffee, etc. In fact, she didn't remove empty dirty glasses. I could tell a lot of the room hadn't been dusted well when I arrived. Someone needs to make sure they pick up items and completely dust.
