  • Not Your Cookie Cutter Hotel

by LyketoGolf on 2020-01-20 05:21 pm

Great little hotel on the water. Exceptional service at a historic place. They do their best to cater to your needs. Nice little courtyard in the back with a cute pool. Plus Alex. You have to meet Alex the talking parrot.

  • Noise from hotel unbearable

    by Guest33 on 2020-01-17 04:22 pm

The hotel has a mechanical system that is not sound-proofed, and it reverberates throughout the rooms. I could not sleep for four nights, and I wore earplugs at night. There was normal street noise, which is expected, but the noise from the huge mechanical system near the lobby and restaurant was unbearable. I tried using earplugs, and sleeping with a pillow on my head, but I could not block out the noise. My neighbors were also complaining of this. I made a screenshot of the decibel-meter on my cell phone it clocked in at 66 decibels, and peaking at 85 decibels! Yes, it is an older, historical hotel, which has it's charm, but there ARE high-tech solutions to noise control that they could install.

  • Keep looking donât stay here- not worth the location :(

    by SooMee S on 2020-01-14 09:28 pm

So Disappointed!!!! I am writing this to let people know not to stay here. Not worth the lesser cost or location:(. We took a chance after reading reviews of noise problems at this property. Hoping that the location/history would be a great experience. Unfortunately, it was not. Loud music, housekeeping at 7:30am (vacuuming and you could hear them right outside our room. However the worst was the 2 roosters & club music until 1 am. The rooster are nightly visitors. (I asked the front desk and was told that they have been coming for 1-1.5 years and keep hotel guests up at night - the lady said that the night person should be trying to get them to go away, but doesn't). They would start around 1 am and sometimes would end by 7:30am constantly just heard cock a doodle doo-- All night! I understand they are wild, but I have never met a hotel that would not fix the problem after that long. When we checked out I mentioned once again how noisy and absolutely no sleep for the 2 nights we stayed and the lady basically laughed and said not our problem with a snotty attitude. Not even an apology. As far as room appeared clean, but had a bad old/musty smell. We could feel the springs in the mattress and it was bathroom was the only updated part. I would never recommend this hotel or stay here again! I hope Best Western knows how this property is being managed/owned! The location is great, but absolutely no hospitality! I now know why it was available when most other places were booked.

  • Historic Charm in Lahaina

by kennysventures on 2020-01-12 00:54 am

This hotel is such a part of the history of the town that staying here is a must. The whole place just oozes charm and history. It is central to everything and a great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Arrived an hour early and expected a bit of a wait, but on finding out our room had just been cleaned, we were checked in straight away.

The pool/courtyard rooms would be quieter. Yes there is noise from the bars (and the rooster !), but you would be missing out on the views of the mountains. the banyan tree and the harbor. We booked room 36 and It is worth that little bit extra. You can tell it is this room, it is the only room that is described as having 2 lanai balconies. It is on the corner of Front Street and Hotel Street. It is a larger room and has a king sized bed and a wet bar ( a sink next to the coffee/tea and an extra fridge). The two balconies have separate doors to the room, but have no barrier between them. This gives you an extra large outside space. Great for the views and to sit and people watch. It is also at the end of the internal corridor to the rooms, so no noise from people passing by.

  • Great Hotel

by travelingpeon on 2020-01-08 04:42 am

I stayed only one night at the BW Pioneer Inn but I enjoyed my stay despite some inconveniences outside the hotels control. I would stay here again.

The Inn is centrally located in Lahaina and is walking distance to plenty of great shops, restaurants, and attractions. It's a great spot to stay if you're diving because the pier where the boats depart is just a few minutes walk from the Inn. If you have a car the Inn has a parking lot that's nearby, perhaps a 3-4 minutes walk away.

The staff were all fantastic. Patti was a pleasure to deal with. Check in went smoothly as did checkout. They even provided me with a late check out when my dive trip ran late.

The only inconvenience I experienced was being woken up by extremely loud music from a nearby bar called Down the Hatch. This was about 12AM. I fell asleep shortly after but the music was still blasting. I spoke to the staff the next morning and they mentioned that it happens occasionally and they've had to call the police. Funny thing is I had wanted to go to Down the Hatch because its supposed to be a fun bar with good food... Didn't get to go but I suppose I experienced it anyway? The staff did give me a discount on my stay due to the noise, which was great of them.

Bottom line, I'd stay at the BW Pioneer Inn again.
