  • Fun location!

    by Tobin P on 2019-12-09 04:20 pm

Have stayed here before but not since its a Best Western property, still good, not fancy.
Functional room, reasonable price, lots to do nearby; surfing right out the front door at Lahaina harbor entrance, numerous boating options, dining and shopping for days. Breakfast at the hotel very convenient and decent. Parking was included and easy enough. Intend to revisit in the future.

  • The Heart of Lahaina.

Quaint vintage hotel in the heart of Lahaina, Maui. Built in 1901, this hotel has a lot of history behind it. Very comfortable rooms with a/c and all the amenities you need. Well kept grounds with a very nice pool! The hotel staff is warm and welcoming and very attentive. We have stayed here before and will return again.

  • Great Location

The location is perfect for Lahaina. Had a view of the harbor. Pool is small but private. Rooms are basic but porches are a great addition. The staff is very informative and friendly.
Fish and chips in the restaurant are good. Macadamia nut pancake was huge and delicious.

  • Excellent location!!!!

Overall this was an excellent property for the value and for the location. We just loved loved the location in downtown Lahaina town. Just across the street was everything that you could ask for in terms of food and shopping and drinks. Of course the property is it Historic Hotel so it's older and not certainly fancy. The rooms are smallish but certainly doable and the bathroom was fine with actually fairly decent water shower for an old hotel. My one gripe was that they did not give you any conditioner at all in any of the bathroom amenities. Even the shampoo was not one of those conditioner shampoo switch truly is not a thing. The Lanai are pretty open and not at all private but they have two nice rocking chairs and a good size table and frankly were actually pretty decent size. The pool area is decent so there is extremely limited loungers. There is free parking which is very nice. When you check in just park your car in front of the hotel or on the side street and then you can check in and get your luggage to bring it up to your room. The one big bummer about this hotel is there is no elevator that we were aware of and going up and down the stairs with our luggage was kind of a chore. The staff was all wonderful and the room was very clean and well-maintained. Ideally for me I would prefer no carpet and rather hardwood floors or tile floors. I would also mentioned that the walls were very thin and we could hear a baby crying one night and outside one night we heard a rooster crowing in the morning. There's a flat screen TV, a refrigerator and a coffee maker which was all very nice. When we checked into gave us a nice ice cold bottle of water which is very welcome. You also get a 15% off discount food at the adjoining restaurant. Wait there for breakfast two times and enjoyed it every time. The staff was wonderful. There was music at the evenings at the bar which was fun. Overall I would certainly stay here again. It's certainly not a 5-star hotel with a few little love adjustment on my point in terms of bringing conditioning I would say here again no problems. I would also mention that the bed was actually very comfortable.

  • A taste of Old Lahaina

    by Ford8N485 on 2019-11-12 08:23 am

You can't get any better than the location of Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, right on the docks with easy walking access to shops and restaurants. No need for a car unless you desire to experience Maui traffic for side trips. The ambiance of the rooms is in keeping with the period and we found it charming. The noise level from outside was a bit much on the weekend at our Banyan front room but things calm down eventually. The AC unit noise was a bit much, however we found sleeping with the AC off and overhead fan was fine. The staff was very ffriendly and helpful. They made our stay even more enjoyable, especially Samantha. The restaurant was very good, well prepared food and tasty at competitive prices. This was our third stay at Pioneer Inn and we will be back next year.
