Beautiful grounds peaceful first class boutique sized hotel. Service is great and breakfasts were too. The spa was serene and had excellent massage. It is close to excellent Scottsdale shopping and plenty of wonderful restaurants too

We spent two nights at the Royal Palms and loved the property. It has a wonderful historic feel and was exactly the smaller boutique hotel experience we were looking for as an alternative to all the mega resorts in PHX and Scottsdale. Other reviewers note the decline of the property which I cannot judge this having been our first time here, but other than a few minor items, it felt luxurious. Some outdoor cushions need replacing (they shouldn't be tattered at a property like this) and the maintenance crew could do a better job tending to very visible bumps and bruises to buildings. I also thought that while the service at the pool was good, the food wasn't up to par for the experience. All that said, we will return...and soon....

The Royal Palms Resort & Spa has a great location. The grounds and facilities were very well kept. The Spa & Restaurant were great (Paul our dinner Waiter was amazing).....overall Great experience. The only 2 less than great comments are: our bed wasn't great & the facility is a little spread out.

  • Wonderful historic property in Scottsdale.

Spent the weekend for our anniversary. Everything we expected and more. Service was stellar. The property, a 1920s estate, was just beautiful. We were in a Casita with a private patio. Very quiet with a lovely fireplace. We had dinner at T Cooks, the on-site restaurant. Excellent service and the food was delicious. A great place to go whether you stay at the resort or not. Definitely we will be back.

  • Very Disappointing

Every year my mom and I stay at a local resort for a stay-cation. We've stayed at the Four Seasons, Phoenician, the Sanctuary to name a few. The Royal Palm used to be a high end five star resort in my top 3 places to stay. Well it's gone down hill considerably since the Hyatt took over. Where to start?? When we checked in they could not find our reservation. Thankfully they weren't booked so we were able to get a room but only with one bed. Ourffirst two nights in-room dining lost our reservation and we ended up waiting for over an hour for our food. Had we not called back we wouldn't have eaten since they has no record of our order. Secondly - our TV did not allow us to order movies so we switched to another room which had a horrible smell in the hallway and in the room itself. On Sunday when I placed a lunch order for room service, they were going to check with the restaurant to see if they could make something from the breakfast menu. When I hadn't heard from them I called 15 minutes later just to find out the front desk was unable to reach in room dining. It would have been nice to get a phone call telling me my lunch order was not able to be placed. Royal Palm used to provide 5 star service-not anymore. I get the feeling morale is low-ish for whatever reason. They seem to be understaffed as well. As far as the grounds - they need a major updrade if they want to compete with surrounding resorts like the Phonecian and the Montelucia. The elevators, walls, flooring etc... is dated. The word vintage comes to mind but that's a nice word for old. Very disappointing to see where this place has gone to. I will say that the resort comped our dinner the second night it was misplaced and have been accommodating to every issue we've run into. For what it costs to stay here I prefer for these types of issues to not exist.
