  • Nice Weekend in Red Wing

    The hotel and room was cleaned and smelled wonderful. The carpet was antique in its pattern which gave it a nursing home type of feel. The staff was pleasant but not openly welcoming. The room was comfortable and we slept well. The price of greater than $230/night was a little steep, yet the location was pleasant. We did not eat at the restaurant, avoiding a $20 breakfast per person. Parking was free in the adjacent garage

  • Anniversary celebration

    Excellent overall but the mattress was very worn out.
    No real coffee in the room just Decaf.
    Carpet was stained.
    Breakfast was wonderful on the deck.
    The Tavern was unique and served excellent food.
    Many meeting and lounge areas to relax in.

    nice hotel in a good area to use as staging for local travel
    Nice room, good comfortable bed. We were in the Lake Pepin area and stayed in Red Wing.The town is cute with good hiking, and quirky attractions such as the World's largest shoe in the Red Wing shoe store and the pottery museum, both of which I would recommend. The hotel is much better than a motel and we used Red Wing to travel around the lake. Staying here felt like a little bit of history.

  • Reservation issue

    We pre-paid our hotel stay and upon check in were asked for a credit card to place on file for incidentals -- normal practice. We checked out without any incidentals but when we returned home, we had a pending authorization on our account for more than twice the amount of the room itself and was an extremely arbitrary number. A phone call to the hotel that evening got us to a front desk staff person who was rude, did not listen nor try to fix the issue, and finally said "I'm just the front desk staff, you'll have to call in the morning." We received no call back the following day, forcing me to call again on the 3rd day before finally reaching someone in the finance office. He agreed that the card should never have been run, the amount was extremely out of line, and that he confirmed that the night audit had corrected the issue. I sent an email to the general manager expressing our dissatisfaction but have yet to hear from anyone at the hotel apologizing for the mistake and explaining how it happened.

    Loved the ambiance of the entire hotel. Everything throughout the hotel offers high quality, luxury amenities. The best of the best. Loved the outdoor patio. Amazing healthy food choices & beverages options.
