  • Gorgeous Hotel

by WolverineFamily on 2019-08-23 07:13 am

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights related to a business meeting. It is a very unique property. The Grand Hall when you walk in is magnificent. Make sure to find time for the light show. It was very cool. My room was very spacious and comfortable. The shower had a glass door for those who don't like shower curtains. I really liked the farm door sliding mechanism. I highly recommend the hotel. I would stay here again.

  • Cranky receptionists

Beautiful lobby, amazing light show. BUT it seems like most of the people in the reception had had a course about how to smile as little as possible. Some of the staff in the bar were friendly, others could not be bothered. Bathrooms definitely needed an update, so annoying to have the shower at the height of your chest, so you almost have to brake your back to get under it to rinse of the shampoo, seems so out-dated. Breakfast was boring, every single day eggs, bacon, biscuits, croissants and a few pieces of fruit. No cereal or youghurt. And the staff did no refills, when it was close to closing hour. If you came 10 min before closing and the coffee was out - well, just tough luck. Really poor service.
    And terrible WiFi.
We will definitely not be back.

  • Comfortable rooms and the very best lobby

Each room is unique in its layout with excellent appointments for an extended stay. A very helpful and friendly staff who seemed genuinely interested in giving the best service. The food was great. The lobby light shows are awesome!

  • Holiday

Called here on our first night as it was closet. I really enjoyed my meal my hubby said was ok. Great atmosphere, lots if memorabilia around and pleasant music. Give it a try not the cheapest place but fresh made food so worth it.

  • Dated property, mold in bathroom and pool

by victorgator on 2019-08-20 10:05 am

We stayed here for a "daddy-son" trip with my pre-school aged son this weekend. The walk from the Union Station light rail stop to the hotel entrance is a pretty long walk and not well marked. Worse, it was not well-maintained and did not feel very safe. I'm glad we arrived before dark. The hotel lobby is truly a sight to see with its beautiful ceiling. The light show on the ceiling only happened the first night, however, as it was "undergoing maintenance" on the next two days and completely offline. The bar was half-closed on both Friday and Saturday, with half of the chairs tilted up indicating not to sit in these seats. There was fragrant (not in a good way) black mold in the bath/shower and also, surprisingly, all along the exposed inside of the pool edge equally fragrant. The park across the street was overgrown and trashed out with homeless folk's stuff everywhere. Room service took twice as long as we were told on the phone (90 minutes) and food was average. Would not stay here again.
