  • Location central and friendly staff, but the hotel requires renovation

    The hotel is located centrally, which is the main positive. The garage is adjacent, but you have got two lifts to get there and walk a bit outside as well - not great in the rain, even if only 5 yards. There are only two lifts in the main building and one seems permanent out of order, so you have to wait a bit or sometimes the lift is already full and you have to wait a bit longer. The hotel rate included breakfast, but that is a laugh. I have attached a picture to illustrate, but we walked straight to the Starbucks nearby for breakfast. The beds are comfortable. The shower adjustment for height did not work anymore, but otherwise the bathrooms are ok. It all needs a facelift.

  • Good hotel - but misleading website

    The website's home page prominently indicates that they offer a "best rate guarantee" and after clicking on the best rate guarantee it says you won't find a better rate on any other website. I guess the person that created the website forgot to share this with their hotel staff because the staff either said they don't have a best rate guarantee or recommended that if a better rate can be found to book it on that website. Don't put info on the website if you can't honor it.

  • Lovely Boutique Hotel

    Lovely boutique hotel in a vibrant part of Uptown Charlotte. Fabulous preservation of old architecture and well appointed room with great decor and a cozy bed. I definitely want to go back. Here are my two negatives: for a high end hotel they have low end towels and really poor lighting in the bathroom - felt like a Motel 6 in the bathroom. The other negative (which they apologized for) was a complete droppping of the ball on delivering room service breakfast which was included ded in our special room package. Communication amongst staff is key in a high end hotel.

  • Good Service with its upscale vinatge english feel

    Service was great first and for most! My room was super cold and when calling to inform the front desk about it, they sent someone up right away and unfortunately the thermostat was broken, the maintenance man then provided me with extra blankets. In the morning the next day they offered me free parking because of the mishap. I appreciate when something goes wrong that somehow management provides a solution immediately and tries there best to rectify the situation. They were on top of it and made sure my needs were met, I certainly am thankful for the staff going over and beyond. I have no complaints at all. Each and every front desk agent greeted me with a smile, which goes a long way. The room was a good size, the bathroom was a bit tight. Overall I had a pleasant stay and the location was beyond perfect it was in the heart of everything.

  • Quiet, Friendly, At the center of Everything

    We really enjoyed The Dunhill! My favorite things were included with the room i.e. WiFi, a wonderful breakfast, nice coffee and tea in the lobby. Nice change from Marriott or Westin where everything is $18.95 extra.
