  • Great for independent traveller

    by DayTrip319658 on 2019-04-15 08:44 pm

We spent four nights in DC, at this hotel located on the Embassy Row, right across the road from a statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

The hotel recognises its limited offering of in-house dining options, by providing an extensive list of restaurants where guests can find food.

Unfortunately the list misses what we found to be great options such as "The Mission" for Mexican food and Soi 38 for Thai food. It seemed that whomever compiled the list of restaurants, took the easy option and picked the restaurants along P street rather than anywhere else in the city.

Other noteworthy members of staff at this hotel include the Valet parking coordinator and the lobby support individuals. They were impeccable In not only providing support if there was a clear and present danger of a significant tip being paid?

We always like to hear from our guests so that we can continuously work to provide the best experience possible. The Dupont Circle neighborhood has many amazing dining options and perhaps it's time for us to take another look at our restaurant list. Our entire team is committed to providing outstanding customer service and are truly pleased when they have succeeded in enhancing a guest's visit. We hope you'll stay with us again.

  • Fun time at the Fairfax

    by John D on 2019-04-15 12:00 am

The Fairfax is a nicely situated hotel on Embassy Row with very attentive staff. They have just completed a redo that is ultra modern. While this may=y be the trend, it loses its ambiance as a stately "comfortable " hotel. There is a nice bar but no sit down day time service other than quick food from a little cafe with refrigerators. Rooms are very comfortable.

    Owner Response
John, thank you for your valuable feedback. It's great to learn there were many positive aspects to your stay, such as our comfortable rooms and great location. That said, we're sorry you were disappointed with our recent renovation to blend our historic features with modern touches. Regardless of appearance, we're still committed to old world service and appreciate your praise of our attentive staff. We hope you'll stay with us again.

  • Historical and Cozy

    by Rubdky1987 on 2019-04-15 11:30 am

We stayed here for an educational business trip. This was a first class hub of the grounding of DC. There were plenty of accessible food outlets unique to DC. The proximity to schools and foreign emassies highlight the neighborhood's charm and culture. We waked 20 minutes to the Vietnan and Lincoln Memorial. The front desk were busy but listened to all of our "touristy" questions.

    Owner Response
It's terrific that you enjoyed your DC visit and we're pleased to have been a positive part of your trip due to our great location. Our staff is always happy to help our guests have the best experience possible and we know they'll appreciate your shout out to their hard work. Thank you for the stellar review of The Fairfax at Embassy Row and please be our guest again.

  • A Great Venue for Gatherings of Friends & Business Associates

    by Kenneth F on 2019-04-15 06:52 am

We had a Graduate School Class Reunion for 65 people in early April. The Hotel's location and facilities are perfect for such gatherings. The Dupont Circle location is superb for convenient transportation, restaurants/bars & museums. The Hotel staff was very supportive, friendly & helpful.

The rooms are very well kept and clean. There are a variety of Public spaces that can be used for meetings, receptions & discussion.. We found the food & beverage service at the Market & the Sally Bar to be very good and innovative.

In short, The Fairfax is a great choice both for individuals & small/medium sized groups

    Owner Response

It means very much to us that you would rate The Fairfax at Embassy Row as a great choice for special gatherings. We hope you'll stay with us again.
