  • One of my favorite places to stay

    by Albert C on 2019-09-04 03:15 pm

Not sure if I want to write a review of the Gasparilla Inn and Club because people might read it and want to come here. I actually want to keep them away so that the crowds to gather. It's already hard enough to book a room during season. I love that it is so old world Florida. It's a trip back in time. All the details of a simpler time are kept up nicely here. Backgamon tables throughout the Inn. Beautiful Bar and reading room. Very nice comfortable rooms with , get a load of this ,real keys to enter the rooms not key cards. The Charm and the relaxing atmosphere is what keeps bringing me back. We go every Independence Day weekend. They have fun events for the family and a great buffet at the Beach club right before the fireworks. Drop off your car and rent a golf cart for the weekend, even partake in the parade of golf carts for the 4th. The only thing that's not great is there are not a lot of restaurants on the island. So, for us it's the perfect place for a 3 day weekend . That's all we need.

  • Gemstone of a hotel

    by summer-izing on 2019-08-31 04:52 am

High priced but calm, lovely, pastel-coloured hotel. From the moment you arrive, park your car, and hire a golf cart, you feel your troubles melt-away. Friendly welcome, assistance to the room or if you are lucky a cottage. Brilliant children's play area under a large shady tree. Amazing breakfasts in the main restaurant and lunch buffet at the beach club. Not to be missed. Carting around town is a time-honoured tradition with a dedicated old rail line now providing a separate trail for the myriad gold carts zipping around town. If you want an old family style hotel in the best tradition of hostelry - try to GI - closed July to October. If you can tear yourself away from the golfing, tennis, beach, shopping, walking and fishing - take a look at the unique village library. A stunner built by a foundation in the 1950s and operated by Lee County.

  • Hotter than heck but beautiful and great service!

As a Northwesterner, I can't recommend visiting in July because it's SO hot and the sun is SO intense that we have to stay inside during mid-day but the town is adorable and the service is excellent. Family friendly town where you can walk to nearly everything. You can go paddle boarding or kayaking, go out to eat, drive the golf cart around, to the pool and go tarpon fishing in the evenings or go shelling. It's a mellow slower laid back island vibe but with east coast formality.
I would definitely come back here in the winter when it's not quite so hot and humid. It is a perfect family low-stimulus getaway!

  • Aniiversary Treat!

We spent another wonderful anniversary at The Gasparilla Inn & Club, and it was delightful! We enjoyed a round of golf and a hot-stone massage at the Spa. Beautiful and well-appointed, the Gasparilla Inn & Club was perfect!

Our party of 4 were treated to the most amazing buffet. All of the items
We're cooked to perfection . The desserts were delicious. The setting is so pleasant and relaxing making it very difficult to leave when the meal is finished.
