  • A magical resort!

    by 63TracyAnn on 2019-05-21 02:42 pm

We love everything about this resort. It is worth every single penny, and they aren't afraid to charge, but it truly is a magical place. For this visit, we stayed in cottages 41.1.and 41.2 with another couple - next trip we will stay in a villa. We have stayed in the Inn, but when traveling with another couple/couples, I would suggest the cottages or villas for the lovely common living area. This was a quiet week to visit, which was heavenly for us. We ate in the main dining room (pricy - and good, but we won't do that every time) the Pink Elephant (upstairs) - absolutely off the charts delicious. Lunch was at the Beach/Pool Club for two days - just perfect. Breakfast was at The Outlet at The Innlet - quirky little restaurant, fantastic breakfast. We rented a golf cart (a must do) and did some great exploring. The Inn has numerous activities, beach, pool, golf, etc. Enjoying the Inn's bar after dinner, or sitting down to play backgammon, or even playing ping pong, or just chatting in the beautiful sofas/chairs in the main or wide aot5ing rooms - what's not to love?

  • Relaxing, elegant, and friendly

A special anniversary trip, that couldn't have been better. The beach and the beach club were superb. We played golf on the seaside course, a Pete Dye. The course had plenty of length, was very well maintained, with quick and interesting greens. The highlight were the meals. Outstanding cuisine coupled with a very complete wine list. The Inn even printed a special menu commemorating our anniversary. The breakfasts were just as unique and wonderful. This will become an annual sojourn.

  • Old Style Beach Resort with excellent everything

Beautiful old resort full of wicker and art with hardwood floors. Top notch staff and services both in the hotel and beach club.

Fifth trip here and never fails to impress.

Many small nooks and private areas to meet friends and other guests to talk quietly.

    Challenging golf with great views.

  • Weâre another satisfied visitor !!

Every review, writing about the main house, is accurate. The #1 stand out is the friendliness of everyone ,,,, not just the maids or Desk but the numerous men always around, the gift shop lady, the wait staff and workmen etc.... #2 is the quality of everything ... 110% ((Give A+ for room nightlight in clock -see photo.))

The amenities are there, the sitting areas, porch, dinning rooms, the front entry, the room and accessories. The crickety floors carpeted over are a throwback to an earlier era that most haven't experienced. If you're accepting of knowing this, no wonder why Bush 41 stayed here numerous times.

We golfed after beach walking. The Course shows the 'gentler side' of Pete Dye. Love the water views and the challengers. A big line-up at #1 reminds you of 'bundled golf' but dissipates quickly.

    Here are some photos ...

  • Special vacation destination

Elegant, regal historical and VERY EXPENSIVE but worth every penny of it. My husband wanted to play golf there and the only way you can play the amazing course is to stay at the Inn. We treated ourselves to a very special time. High Class
