  • Lovely place to land for a Detroit adventure

by TravelingPatrickNYC on 2019-05-25 08:10 am

I decided to fly to Detroit for the long holiday weekend... because I've never been to Detroit. So glad I found the Inn on TripAdvisor and made the reservation. The complex is actually a series of quaint, well furnished contiguous brownstones. I'm staying in the carriage house, and really enjoying the place.

  • Best breakfast and bed in town!

by DeborahStead on 2019-05-23 02:09 am

Loved staying here! Thanks everyone that made our stay so pleasant. The breakfast is outstanding and the bed was very comfy. Having the shuttle taking us around was also very helpful. Great place to stay!

  • Classy, affordable, and wonderful staff

    by LizaNYC99 on 2019-05-21 07:35 pm

Yes, each of the buildings on the property is elegant yet cozy, and the pretty rooms offer all the creature comforts, but it's the staff here that makes the experience stand out. Everyone is really helpful and friendly. Charles, who often drives the shuttle, was especially hospitable and kind and willing to go the extra mile. Literally!

  • Very nice

    by JanStar140 on 2019-05-21 12:54 am

This is the first time we stayed in a "bed & breakfast". We liked it very much. The room was on the small side, but had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good and had an abundance of food items available. The only complaints we had was that we were on the 3rd floor and had to carry our luggage up when we arrived and down when we left. Our bags were heavy and there was no elevators. LOL. It would have been nice if someone had been available to help us. Also, and this is minor, the tv we had was in a tv console and was very low, so when we were on the bed (the only place to be when watching) it was hard to see. It would have been better placed on top of the console. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay here. The area was nice, it was close to the Comerica Stadium, which is one reason we stayed here. Also, they had a free shuttle that was available to take us to/from the game. That was great! We would stay here again if we ever come back to the area.

  • Old School Ambience in a restored Victorian - Highly Recommend!!

by Sailguy on 2019-05-12 03:53 am

I was interviewing at Wayne State University and the Inn is located right on campus so they booked me there for one night and I can see why. Thankfully these beautiful old Victorians have been maintained and I had a wonderful stay. Staff is very friendly and my suite was in their adjacent home next door to the main Inn. Hardwood floors, incredible wood trim, and a charm and ambience that doesn't exist in today's hotels. I had a huge poster bed that you had to climb into which gave me a great night's sleep before a full day of interviews at the medical school. They have a great breakfast and I even met my first interviewer there that morning and we chatted for over an hour. They also have a free shuttle that will take you to campus which was convenient for me as I had my luggage with me after checking out the morning of the interviews. Around the corner there is a gas and go so you can get sodas/snacks, etc. if you want them which was nice when I got in the day before from the airport and needed something before dinner that night. Hope to go back and bring my wife!!
