The Lodge at Nemacolin was originally established as the hunting retreat for the Pittsburgh-based business magnate, Colonel Willard F. Rockwell. Completed in 1968, the lodge quickly became a popular outdoor destination among Rockwell’s friends due to its abundance of wild game and fresh fish in the majestic Laurel Highlands mountains. The building later became a convention center when the Colonel sold the location in 1979. This historical treasure now operates as a lovely hotel. Debuting as The Lodge at Nemacolin during the late 1980s, the hotel has attracted countless guests with its bucolic charm ever since.
